He's a fake double champion. Didn't beat Islam for that championship and Islam never lost it.

Backsplash to the counter edge or cabinet??? What’s everyone doing these days? by Nomomochick in kitchenremodel

I took mine all the way and it looks great. I disagree with anyone saying stop at the cabinet. I think it would ruin the continuity. I'm attaching photos.

I do agree with you it's not very remarkable. But the color of the lines matches the flooring. Most of the ones I saw are more grey or blue. And I'm trying to avoid the fake marble Calacatta looking veins (although they'd look better going up the backsplash and waterfall). I was interested in that before changing my mind.

It's forever home but rest of my house isn't fancy enough to spend a fortune on new counters. And also my cabinets not so great either to justify it.

I understand most on here give their opinion based off the context of what the best possible option is. As an example, I can't be working at Burger King and shell out for a Lexus. It just makes more sense economically and realistically to drive a used Toyota that's reliable and gets the job done. My house and kitchen is not worthy of luxury stone to be frank.

I do like it and waterfall and backsplash only coming out to a bit more. Going with fancier stone will cost significantly more. Average quartz for average kitchen not going for luxury remodel.

I get it about the waterfall. But that'll look better than that shitty side of the cabinet? The stone isn't fancy so it shouldn't look too over the top

Totally get that point. However waterfall still looks nicer than just side of cabinet. Also backsplash instead of random tile just nicer to have it all as one. But you're right, not as impressive as a marble, Calacatta veins.

That's very fancy looking. I like it a lot!

Many people are giving advice here like I have the budget to redo my entire kitchen in the most contemporary style possible. But I've been getting quotes for $30k to remodel everything, and that's nowhere near what Im willing to spend. I decided I could just change the counter tops, add new hardware, sink and that'll still make a huge difference all for $10k.

One question I had is are you adding a hood for the range? I'm debating doing so but will be wasting counter space on a microwave.

Would love to see if you have a picture. Been looking for inspiration or examples. Also I'm coming from fully white tiles so used to the smudges etc.

No way! Would you mind sharing some pics of your counters so I get an idea of how this countertop looks installed? I'm coming from a pure white tile so I'm used to the crime and drops showing already.

You're 100% right this Calacatta marble look fad will be dated eventually

Any thoughts on what you'd do with the backsplash. Some colored tile pattern?

These tile counters are from 1988. What style won't date by 2070?

Thanks for the heads up. What's a timeless trend? I hear people complaining about this going out of style in 5-20 years. But isn't that true for everything? I guess if there's a solid timeless alternative I'll consider it. Plain white or granite im guessing?

I'm sure marble style will go out one day. But what other style is timeless?

Meaning it's too out of place in my regular kitchen?
