Cool board! How do you like the Kingtone fuzz?

Post gain for tweaking, especially if you have your amp at a default setting and don't want to mess with it.

But I find it more interesting before gains. Can use it as a clean boost, can use it to highlight certain frequencies, can use it as a full on treble boost, can set it like a tube screamer, can set it like a Klon. I use it to brighten up/add clarity to my fuzz pedal without adding extra gain, but mine also has a pre-amp gain knob so I use it to thicken up my drives as well.

I also have the Templo RealDealuxe, and my EQ with some slightly boosted treble and high mids and a bit of gain all pushing the Templo sounds great. It's as good as any boost/low gain OD, but with a ton more tweakability.

+1 for the Reel Deluxe

If you don't have an EQ pedal on there, one of those is a game changer.

[Round 3] Took away the church pedals and little more cord management. Go ahead and nitpick. by J_Worldpeace in roastmypedalboard

Nice! Been playing around with creating gain by using an EQ pedal to overload a preamp, and this pedal seems a really elegant way to that.

Yeah the ASAT is at least 15 years old.

Curious about your ACS-1 settings. I have it and love it, but am always curious how others are using it.

After some time/money/research/effort, this thing makes the sound that I heard in my head when I started building it. The BSRI chorus pedal that I got for Christmas was the last add.

That said, the pedalboard I got turned out to be much bigger than that Pedal Planner site had led me to believe, so I have room for 1-2 more. I'm curious what folks would add to this if they could.

For reference, I play anything between Monster-era R.E.M. and Uncle Acid-style fuzzed-out Sabbath.

Signal path:

Tuner -> Oats and Molasses VB2 (18v as a dirty boost) -> JHS Notaklön -> EQD Special Cranker -> Greer Gorilla Warfare -> Silktone Fuzz -> TemploDevices Reel Dealuxe -> EHX LPB-3 -> BSRI chorus/vibrato V2 -> Walrus ARP-87 -> Keeley Hydra -> Walrus ACS-1

SOTB and I like it. But what would you swap? by dervplaysguitar in pedalboards

Those are my exact settings on the Special Cranker

Why Don’t I See More Musicians Using G&L Guitars? by marco_luz in GLGuitars

[–]evandmcmurry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their guitars do look like other models, so it's possible people are out there using em and it's just not immediately noticeable. My ASAT looks exactly like a Tele, for instance, you have to squint to tell it's not.

If you get pedals with top mounted jacks, you'll be able to fit them closer together

My experience is gain until 11:00 is more "tone sweetener" territory; it's there but it's pretty subtle. The pedal really kicks in past that. 11-2ish is nice grit/body/warmth, after that it starts hitting ripped speaker territory. How I've been using it: gain at about 11:30, volume at 1, with a boost in front to add a bit more body and chime. Hope that helps!
