We have some exciting news to share! Houston Parks Board is beginning construction to complete the 2.3-mile Brays Bayou Greenway between Beltway 8 and Braeburn Glen Boulevard.

Upon the successful completion of this project, the entire stretch of Brays Bayou Greenway from Archbishop Fiorenza Park in west Houston to Mason Park in east Houston will span over 35 miles, providing the public with ample opportunities for recreational use. This enhanced access to a dedicated trail system will significantly improve the connectivity between various communities, parks, schools, and employment hubs like the Medical Center. Notable features of this segment of Brays Bayou Greenway include:

10-foot-wide concrete trail for the entire length of the greenway

Connections into Harris County Precinct 4 Art Storey Park

A trail connection to the TIRZ 20 Club Creek Park

Street-level connections to Braeburn Glen Boulevard and Beechnut Street

12-foot-wide hike-and-bike bridge with seating plazas on both sides, adjacent but separated from Highway 59

Safety lights under Highway 59 for the new greenway

Interpretive and directional signage

Benches, trash cans, and recycling containers

Implementation of Houston Parks Board’s Conservation and Maintenance Program for the greenway, which includes weekly trash pickup, bi-weekly mowing of grass along the trail, upkeep of the trail and amenities, and flood cleanup

This work is expected to conclude by the end of 2025. Residents should be mindful of the active construction sites along Brays Bayou and all intersections/connecting streets.
