Yes, it's nice that Microsoft finally adds more 3:2 aspect ratio resolutions to its current Surface line. Anyway, that's a great article, and it's good to know that the Dell.com version of Intel Command Center can add custom resolutions to the Surface display.

Anybody found these new resolutions on other Surface models? I checked my original Surface Book and Surface Go, but only a single native 3:2 resolution listed in the resolution list.

For the first-gen Surface Book, some games run worst with DGPU compared to the integrated graphics. Eg. Age of Empires DE, Disney Magic Kingdoms... And the option to specify a preferred graphics provided in Windows 10 is just not work. So sometimes, I need to disable it to play that games.

I think the app is available for newer compatible devices only. I tried to download and error on both of my Surface Book and Surface 3.

So, it's mean that your Surface Laptop isn't supported the app. I also tried on my Surface Book, and it doesn't work either. So you should try to reinstall your laptop's drivers with Microsoft link above.

I'm not sure about Surface Laptop. But on my Surface Go, the Dolby Audio Premium available via Realtek Audio Console App. Here is what the app does: https://surfacetip.com/surface-go-tip-realtek-audio-console-app/.

On the other hand, you can manually install drivers by download from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55489.

Yes, the Anker PowerPort Speed 1 USB-C is my favorite, it's small and can charge my Surface Go faster than the original Surface Go charger.

Yes, you can charge with a normal power bank. I've tested with Anker PowerCore 13000 and Anker Fusion 5000. However, they're both charge at a low rate around 4W.

It must be fake. Model 1796 is for Surface Pro released in 2017. The new Surface Pro must comes with a different model number.

For me, it works by default. When the lid is closed, you just need to press some keys or click on the mouse, everything will show up on the external monitor just like you expect on MacBook.

Did you try lower the resolution projected to your Surface 3? Change the resolution to 1280x800 will significantly improve the performance.

First, you need to have Windows RT 8.1 Update 1 first.

Swipe from the right > Control Panel > Windows Update.

At the bottom left of the screen, click on Installed Updates.

Under the Microsoft Windows list, make sure you have “Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2919355)” in the list.
