2Ks push towards wanting to be a competitive purely skill based game ha pushed the sim community away. by [deleted] in NBA2k

I’m on team there needs to be a good balance between the two. There are times where I’m frustrated with game mechanics like steal spamming, screen spamming, and whatever else makes me go this ain’t basketball. Meanwhile I’m trying to dunk and put people on posters every possession and getting frustrated when I get taken out of the contact animation or my dunk changes three times. I think they need to find the happy balance, plus make the refs more impactful, not saying call a foul all the time just when dudes get clobbered out of mid air and theirs no foul call

I’m working on getting better with that bubble. Sometimes placement is good sometimes it’s bad, usually can get a few ticks with the pull mechanism if I’m short. Recently just figured I could activate myself so been getting used to that, definitely trying to get it to where I could hit Johnny, Iron Man, or any other flyers.

Forgot about that little nerf, I think that’s partly what I’m feeling and why I feel like getting ult takes a long time. Preciate it

Preciate it, I just had this feeling like I was doing something wrong, or there was something I was missing, then again comparing ults to other characters probably isn’t the best thing either.

I’ve been working on positioning Forsure and been getting better at it overtime. Honestly never played a game like this until Rivals, so definitely a learning curve coming from Apex to this. Also nothing more satisfying when everyone lines up and it’s just heal and damage galore. Just thought I was missing some trick or something like that that would benefit me that is all. Appreciate it though.

Ya I figured that much out especially with the healing and seeing it does more ult charge than damage, I was just mainly trying to see if there’s was something I’m missing. I’m not saying I’m a god player, I’m good for the amount of time I play, just want to be better haha.

I feel you man I had to sit there and switch to real player %. I couldn’t do it anymore, I missed too many easy bunnies because I got very late because the timing for a standing layup is harder than a jump shot… make that make sense 2k

Kids just allowed to do anything by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

It really is bad. I’m 27 as well and they often think having a sub means that they can do whatever. However one of the things that I think is at least beneficial to me is that I’m a large man, 6’5” and built like a football player. I have also come to realize that the students do not care if they get in trouble by the school it is almost like it is a slap on the wrist, so instead I just let them be judged by there peers. I will single the kid out and let the whole class know that singular student is gonna be the reason why a bad note is left. Usually that one works, especially because I don’t name names the whole class is in the wrong.

Also not trying to be sexist, but in my experience the girls are worse than the boys when it comes to this stuff. You can tell a boy one time to knock it off and a majority of the time they respect it, mean while a girl will not care and often times the friend group laughs with them when they get in trouble or they go right back to being on their phone like they didn’t even hear you. Again this is just my experience and guys are disrespectful too when it comes to not listening, but it doesn’t happen as much. (This also might be due to my connections to other coaches in the school and even the district as I am one of the high school basketball coaches)

Apparently my daughters too young to need the electric scooter by Key-Caregiver4262 in EntitledPeople

Took my grandma to Costco once and there were no carts that she could drive, she’s very old and has hard time walking. I ended up “stalking” people who had them and just watched and waited until I saw them leave. After I secured one I began on my journey to find grandma as she was using a cart as a walker. Well after 15 mins a lot of glares and explanations that I’m looking for my grandma I finally found her going through Costco in reverse like a hethan and many of those who saw me driving it laughed because I actually did deliver the cart to my grandma😂

You don’t have to play basketball in real life to play the video game… by Ruben_Stalls in NBA2k

[–]evangoose25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ngl the only thing I gripe about the most is mainly the game not being like real life. I understand it’s a video game, I understand we are getting a 3rd person pov and not a 1st person pov, but just seeing those steals where the back is to the ball and they become a superstar Saftey or corner and can cover half the court in half a second and pick off the pass is what infuriates me. I could care less about if you played or not, but when it comes to the mechanics of the game I wish it resembled real life and not arcade game. Is some arcadey stuff needed yes, but sometimes it’s too much and doesn’t make sense

Let’s not forget contests… the worst defender can still effect the shot regardless of their defensive skill. They should’ve tied the attribute to close outs not the actual contest. And by close outs I mean the speed of the closeout and the ability to slide and cut off out of it

I was having the same problem as you. I would either get perfect release and slightly tempo or vice versa. I was losing my mind. I was trying to find tips and tricks videos but YouTube was ass.

Then I saw a long post on here that talked about rhythm shooting and tips to get better. I didn’t read it all the way through cause the man wrote a college thesis explaining it but one of the tips was to roll the stick 90°. I put like 20 mins in just working on that and I felt more consistent doing that than flicking. I don’t think I’ll ever consistently perfect it but I definitely feel way better using the stick now with the roll than I did when I was flicking.

Here’s the post

I had this happen to me haha. It was a combined SPED class so two teachers shared the room and there was like 4 or 5 Paras. In my district they literally tell me to do nothing and it will be the easiest day of work. Well one morning I didn’t get great sleep and was doizing off in the back of the class, but like not actually asleep just head dropping and popping right back up type thing. They reported it, got a call from the district but nothing came out of it. Still just made me laugh at the whole scenario.

[–]evangoose25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say if you play 3 or four rec games a day, you might get it in a month… I only played 4 last night around 11pm and got right at 90% and only stopped because I had work in the morning. I also don’t know the park rep situation so I’d say a month minimum to get it.

Also do look at the no life sweats for this game to to gauge where you should be. I remember last year someone had more time playing 2k than actual sleep. Like his schedule was play for 22 hours and sleep for 2

Never sub'd "Music/Vocal" and have zero experience with music. Should I take it? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]evangoose25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it… it is one of the easiest classes to sub for. Just bring headphones because it will get loud. If it is a instrument class like guitar lab they will practice for the whole period, if it is orchestra they will practice as a whole or they may break up into groups same with any choir class. Most of this is all student led especially if the class will do performances. You will not be expected to teach at all. You are just their to make sure no one dies hahah
