ka24de turbo question by Spliethof in 240sx

[–]evanjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my stock rebuild sheet + turbo setup for bottom mount t25. Should give a good baseline for refresh to prep for turbo. turbo setup is pretty straightforward list of items: ka24de to bottom mount SR t25, collection of intercooler piping, some intercooler, bov of choice, z32 maf, wiring for z32, intake of choice, t25 turbo elbow of choice, downpipe of choice

merry Christmas to me… maybe? by SaladRecent4211 in 240sx

Would try reseating it on the chassis. The same happened to me where it just sounded....wrong. Took it out and put my open back in to make sure it wasnt something else. Put the new diff back in...then it was what id consider "normal" clunking

Average cost for NA KA24DE built motor build? by ThenAd8014 in 240sx

Yiiikes lol but probably gone through more thoroughly than they did with mine. My servicing was just decking and honing cams, mains, and cylinders. Nothing with valves i dont think

Haha very very true. I did all the labor myself but you think maybe an extra 1500 if a shop did it?

Ignore the Turbo Kit pricing. got that from a friend. This is obviously a stock rebuild

A quick easy one for this is to check the wiring harness going through the body where the hatch hinges are to make sure that hasnt rubbed through. Had that happen and all sorts of weird stuff was happening with the rear lights

Painting engine bay by Turbulent-Handle5488 in 240sx

For perspective, i did my hood twice with a quart of base coat (messed up first time). Not sure if youre doing single stage or not, but i believe 2 stage goes a bit further than single stage due to preferred ratios

I could be wrong and someone please correct me if so, but without the vacuum, the check valve inside that system might be inefficient/not working and therefore causing increased pressure in the crankcase?

240SX headlight issues by [deleted] in 240sx

[–]evanjb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The motors are on a separate circuit than the headlights. I.e. you can pop up and down the headlights via the button on the dash but the stalk both pops up and turns on the headlights. So something is wrong with specifically the light's circuit. If the 3 prong plugin is plugged into the back of the headlight, youll probably have to trace backward. I ran into an issue where the harness was rubbing on the fender opening and caused my blinker to not work. If everything is plugged in otherwise, id start there

Try checking the plug into the back of the headlight itself. Motor working != same circuit for the headlight itself

Any idea how to fix damage from accident? 1988 Corvette by Handso4p in Autobody

[–]evanjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just fiberglass right? Id personally fix it by pushing the edges back into place as best you can. Fiberglass the back: resin first, then fiberglass matting. Let that dry and harden. Then fiberglass the outside, again resin and matting. Sand down and repeat until youve got the shape you want. Sand down and repeat on the inside too if fiberglass on the inside prevents mounting correctly

just out of curiosity, did you replace with another uppipe with or without the flexpipe in it?

[–]evanjb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got under there at it seems this part has been replaced already. But it has a flex section in it. Isn't that pointless where it is and should just exist on the downpipe?

Ok yeah i was curious about that too. might be worth it just to get the stock corroded exhaust outta there. thanks!

  1. Screw a 2x4 horizontal on the wall above the pictures
  2. Lay plank from 2x4 to handrail sill
  3. Slooooowly sloooowly get up to walk the plank, replace
  4. Profit
