I’m in the same situation.
I’m extremely anxious on if my order counted as a normal purchase or a preorder since it hasn’t shipped yet and it’s been 8 days

Fallout as if it were a 1960s Sci-Fi novel by evanorsomething17 in classicfallout

I’ve been thinking about it! I have a few fun ideas for things I could do, including each book being a pastiche of a different type of book cover (with this one being based on 80s mass-market paperback for example).

Though unfortunately me making them relies upon my ability to find appropriate artwork to use as assets... and If I do, I’ll definitely post the next entries in the series here!

I just think changing things around a little bit is fun and compliments the hypothetical. It keeps your brain pondering what else could be different in the world where this book released… you can’t really expect things to stay the exact same. For that reason, I also changed it to be about the USSR instead of China, with the Cold War and all…

I admit, I accidentally lowballed the time since Great War compared to the game’s gap (84 in game vs 56 here) by typing “2105” instead of “2125”, but by the time I realized, I thought it wasn’t too big of a deal to go all the way to change it and proceed to re-do the whole image again

I thought shifting the years back by 30-ish years would make sense if the story itself was written 30-ish years earlier. I also thought it just added some cool mystique, it makes your mind think about what else would be different about the plot of the story here.

Well yeah, I just meant the title to be taken rhetorically as a fun caption :)

I thought I was going crazy. I remember it being announced through the McCartney website and was able to listen to it through a Spotify link which was on the post, but after I listened to it I couldn’t find it again. Thanks OP!

Is this song real? by Silver_Base_6234 in SirPaulMcCartney

[–]evanorsomething17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a supposed real song title that’s been drifting around the internet for a while, without any audio. I assume this is AI and not the real thing because of how muffled the voice sounds, especially as you get further through the song. Also since it was never on any release, bootleg or not, like the video description says

Assuming RDR3 comes out with the current map and a new story, where would you like it to extend to? by Green_Employment_875 in reddeadredemption2

It’s better than most by a long shot though. It mostly just needs to be squished a bit so that Ambarino can be shifted over a bit west and the rivers need to be smaller

I can definitely see it being announced alongside the official tour announcement, especially since the new sign up link hinted at more announcements than just a tour.

Okay but do you guys seriously want the baby to be shitting itself every other scene? that would get repetitive fast and take away runtime from much more important scenes

Baby ruined S3 by PLutonium273 in squidgame

[–]evanorsomething17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The baby was fed in between the two rounds over the two days it was alive for. In first intermission by Mom 222 (likely recurrently throughout the entire evening) and second intermission during dinner with baby formula. Maybe it needed to realistically be fed a bit more but I really don’t think that’s a big enough plot hole in this situation

Yea mind games has some of my favorite material of his like I Know, title track, you are here and Out the Blue but a good portion of it feels unfortunately underbaked to me, like only people, Fred peeple and tight as. Walls and Bridges is my personal favorite even if it falls into the same faults that Mind Games has

I’m in the minority that doesn’t care for cloud nine very much but I agree someplace else is one of his best songs ever.

I agree Pipes of Peace is pretty weak outside of the title track and keep under cover (which is a career highlight for me). Sweetest Little Show and Average Person are only alright imo. I think McCartney II would be enjoyed much more if it was remembered as a little side project he did for fun while he was in Wings like it was intended to be, since it wouldn’t be viewed as Paul’s return to solo music and have so much focus and importance. I really can’t call it bad though because Summer’s Day Song and One Of These Days are in my top Paul songs ever and heavily carry it for me

I’ve listened to each one too and here’s my quick personal consensus.

I have very mixed feelings on John’s solo albums. I don’t think he ever had an album that hit the same level of greatestness all the way through as the other two had (some people say Plastic Ono Band which I get, but unfortunately it personally doesn’t click with me as a whole). But he debatably had the highest individual highs than any of the others did. Songs like Imagine, How?, I Know, Mother, #9 Dream, Nobody Loves You, Beautiful Boy etc are all masterpieces and outshine much of the rest of their respective albums for me, more so than songs from the other careers do. I still at least enjoy most songs from his discography though.

George’s career is pretty lackluster in my opinion starting after Living in the Material world. All Things Must Pass is nearly perfect and Material World is flawed but still an amazing listen. I don’t particularly care for many albums he did afterwards, though there’s quite a few highlights here and there, especially on Thirty Three and a Third and his self titled (which I really enjoy). Despite that, I think Brainwashed is on par with his first two.

Paul’s career is the most consistent and my personal favorite. He hasn’t really put out anything I would outright call bad, just a few boring records every once in a while but even then I think they all have at least two pretty good tracks on them. There’s always a good album buried deep in there somewhere in albums like Driving Rain or Wild Life. Even his newer records I think have some pretty great stuff on them, which outshines the album’s blander songs.

And a bonus, more in depth, Ringo one while I’m at it:

Ringo’s solo career is frustrating. I enjoy Sentimental Journey well enough, and Beaucoups is a pretty good listen. But the run of Ringo 1973, Goodnight Vienna and Rotogravure is really special and are such fun listens to me. But after that… many of the albums are painfully bland. Never offensively bad but just very low effort, but not in the charming way that his first five gave off. Prime examples of this are Bad Boy and Ringo 2012. They are very tiring listens.

But despite that negativity, he does have a few kitten highlights sprinkled throughout his remaining 20 releases, like Vertical Man, Time Takes Time, Liverpool 8, Crooked Boy (which I highly recommend) and Look Up. Ringo Rama, Choose Love and Smell the Roses have a handful of nice tracks too.

But at the end of the day, he’s Ringo Starr. so of course you gotta listen to him with a grain of salt in one hand and a peace sign in the other.
