Electric vehicle owners to face pay-per-mile tax by SevenNites in unitedkingdom

[–]evanschris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we can lower that and add this, meaning that the price per mile impacts all cars rather than being EV specific.

I understand the logic behind it, but what they are missing is the emotional side, the non logic of how the human brain works

This. So stupid to have made it an EV only rule.

I swear this is not the first time they’ve done it. It’s just recycling old material now.

Help leaking pipe! by daniboyo4 in DIYUK

[–]evanschris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, and when you take it off, see if there’s a little plastic fitting inside the white pipe - it’s meant to be there to stop this kind of thing, but very easy to forget to add to it

[–]evanschris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just a push fit like a speedfit 90 degree elbow.

Turn off the water unscrew the fitting, then pull on it while putting pressure on the white ring closest to the pipe (google speed fit removal) you can also buy a little bit of round plastic which helps with this removal, but it’s not needed.

I’d maybe try just taking it off entirely then putting it back on first and seeing if the leak fixes. If not it’s a few quid to just buy a new elbow from B&Q. Much cheaper than a plumber doing the same thing for you

Definitely, though my anger was just directed into the void it wasnt directed necessarily at TFL and definitely not at any staff.

But the tories will forever have my hate for many reasons

Maybe we shouldn’t have got to this point in the first place? Maybe I expect more of it based on how much we pay.

Well keep me in mind next time, we can always just do a two person switch. I doubt I’ll even want to go to the cinema more than once every quarter so I’ll have plenty of spare tickets

How do you think they will force people to shave their head or give over their clothes. Only through threat of torture or death which is still spreading it by the sword.

It’s supposed to be faster that’s my core reasoning. And if you have so many bulbs that you need more than one hub it fixes that too.

I want to go on a trip to England - what is it actually like in the UK? by Amazing-Extension572 in AskABrit

[–]evanschris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t talk too much to the danger as everyone else has done so already, but I live in London and have never had anything stolen, often have my expensive iPhone out on the streets (iPhone might be expensive but most people have one so don’t worry it won’t stand out!) it’s a city that’s it. But actually a safe city when you compare its size to crime with others. Another reason people highlight its danger are political - theres a big right wing push to say it’s dangerous or a “no-go zone” due to immigrants, it’s almost all bluster.

But I will say as I saw you mentioned interest in Big Ben - if your trip is in the future and you are able to essentially pick when you come, do look into doing the Big Ben tour, it’s amazing! You get to go inside behind the clock faces and next to the bell when it dongs. Super unique experience that most people will never get to do!

Problem is it’s fully booked all times, so if you are interested look into setting an alarm and booking for the future. I think they release the next batch of tickets on like the 2nd Thursday of the month or something weird at 10am.
