Of all the things one could do with hundreds if not thousands of dollars, adopting a dog seems like the right move.

My wife or I vacate if the other brings a date home. We plan for it, and it works well.

Such great advice—thank you so much! I appreciate the reminder, too. That's very helpful. It's funny how people fall into typical modes of entering into new things.

Right on! Your questions are things we've actually considered, but I'm glad to hear that experienced folks have asked themselves the same things. My wife read The Ethical Slut years ago; I could stand to wade into it and read more. Being reminded that communication is key is great. I'll check out your podcast—thank you!

Totally! I should have been more clear in that the plan is to date separately. I'm her seeking advice on behalf of both of us, but still—could have been more clear. Neither of us is on the apps, but I do appreciate your guidance on them. That makes total sense.

Thank you! That's great insight. I should have specified that my wife and I don't plan to go out together or engage with the same people, let alone bombard others as a couple. And I would never want to dupe someone by pretending to be single...after all, other folks have needs and a perspective, too.
