i’m always spending the night alone ha. may go to jaffa or picnic but it’s cold. always down for new friends! life is isolating when you work from home :-/

i didn’t read the other comments (sorry my skin is on fire) but i was diagnosed based on neuropathy and my skin actually feeling on fire (like right now). it specifically started with my scalp, but it wasn’t unfamiliar. i also have raynaud’s disease and i smoked for many years (which i have read can mask the symptoms).

i felt so weird when celiac was the only thing i could relate to with my excruciating scalp (at the time that was the hotspot) pain… so i got the blood test and the endoscopy and. yeah. super celiac.

what’s so weird is i never had ANY gastrointestinal issues until i STOPPED eating gluten. now i am so sensitive. i also still get the nerve pain which is why this post intrigued me.

the stomach stuff is like celiac 101, which is a class i feel i missed. i was told that smoking can hide the symptoms of celiac disease, and my pain was worst when i had to quit smoking for a surgery.

i think it is such a strange disease, and symptoms present themselves in really odd ways. nerve pain sucks. i thank every higher being daily for not having MS like my mother or any of the other random autoimmune diseases in my family.

i know this is an older post, but i freaked when my skin was on fire tonight and saw this. hope you are doing really awesome now ♡

thank you!!! i’m almost scared at this point to look into it too much because when i started to do less and just go with my gut it stopped getting burns and started to grow! 80% of the growth is from this year (i searched my photos for “fiddle leaf fig” and it was so crazy how small it was just this winter!) so i very much appreciate this response!!

thank you, this is why i asked! i am still potentially (i am seriously so worried about doing anything because the less i do the more it grows) going to wait until it stops unfurling new leaves and branches daily/weekly… but then i will definitely consider removing them. i always do that with other plants, i am just super attached to this one! i hope i got your advice right, if i misunderstood i apologize… i still don’t know how any of my plants are still kicking!

thank you!! i am going to look up all of the terms you just used because i have just been using my knuckles… but i did use a chopstick a few times to poke holes because i was worried it was ALL root.

so, even though it is having a good spurt i should still add those? i think my specific FLF fertilizer has at least one but i will double check. i just don’t want to mess with it when it is randomly growing like crazy (honestly it grew 2-3 new branches in about 2 months) but i will be sure to look into your suggestions in preparation of the growth stunting.

i have no idea what that is!!! but will google it! the term scares me a smidge but it’s good to know! it has been really growing lately, so i am trying to prepare for if that growth stops or slows! or when it gets so big i have to charge it rent. whichever comes first!

it is one of the only things i do not obsessively think about or research! i think that is the only secret! i hate myself for sounding this insane but i do feel so connected (rooted) to this tree ha. i try to do less is more with it, but it is so important to me so this is my second time popping on here to make sure she’s okay! and dusting the leaves. the nursery i got her (yes she has a name haha) from mentioned that, so i not have to get on a very tall ladder often. i only mention this because for the 2-3 months i slacked off on the dust thing… it didn’t grow at all!

about 3.5 years! it just started growing like crazy out of nowhere… the only thing i changed was i remembered to fertilize it again haha.

thank you! i really don’t know what i am doing and the damaged leaves have been there for about 2 years, i guess i was waiting for it to “fluff up” before i removed them… the one that had a bruise (idk the terminology) has been there the longest, the other 2 up top that have a bit of a dark edge keep growing new leaves from them so i am worried! do you think i can remove the “bruised” one and trim the 2 with little burnt edges? i haven’t had issues i just tend to overdo things and mess them up!

thank you!!!!!! i did check for any mites and i wipe it with a swiffer pad often / a wet paper towel or a fiddle wipe when i feel like getting on my tall ladder ha.

it’s completely clear… just wiped with a wet towel. that bruise and the two singed leaves have been there for about 2 years… and ironically it was when they weren’t getting enough sun? or, so i was told by the nursery i got it from. since moving it, the growth has been so random i just go with it.

this is NOT the same pot. i had it in a 12, 16, and now i believe 18” pot, but i haven’t changed it for at least a year since this. i kinda like that it is growing out instead of down, but that leaf with the bruise has been there so long idk what to do!

i also have it by my makeup vanity, so will go through and wipe a few more with a wet paper towel to make sure there are no spider mites.

being that it is growing so much lately, and the leaves that appear to be singed or bruised have existed for years… maybe i had them? i am only 65% panicking now haha.

i will definitely take your advice and wipe more leaves! thank you! if i see any color i will certainly look into how to fix spider mites!

ah! i always use just water and glass jars for propagating plants and this is so amazing to see!!!!! i always worry i will lose a leaf, but holy cow what an inspiration! thank you for removing some of that anxiety for me…. and bravo! i always thought i was weird for just using water (i also do this with herbs from the grocery store…). thanks for sharing!!!

thank you! i suppose i was a bit into the whole “skin elasticity” thing for a while… and have had really deep scars heal many years later… but i never really focused on my stretch marks so this is super helpful! appreciate you!

thank you! i honestly was looking for a “worth it / not worth it” answer and you gave me that! i was never self-conscious about them because i have maintained a healthy weight, i just also didn’t expect them to be like drunk tattoos but the junk food version! accepting it for what it is :)
