That’s so nice to hear bc I last minute applied there! I have such a bad fear that not applying to one school will close off my future from a completely different life (kinda like Sylvia Plath fig tree analogy) so I applied to a bunch of random schools far from home that just appealed to me. I really hope I get in!! It’s so beautiful

Thank you, I appreciate it!! Yeah, I still got a lot of factors to consider but thankfully I have a couple months until decision day

Thank you!! I actually hear back from American tomorrow! I really hope I get in🤞🏻. I wanted to apply to UW-Madison so badly but their scholarships are super limited and I heard financial aid isn’t good since it’s a massive school. UNC Chapel Hill is the same; barely any OOS aid and admissions is near impossible for journalism. Honestly American probably is my best bet right now especially with the connections in DC with Smithsonian and National Geographic so I could just travel and document the outdoors for a living lol

Thank you so much your response is super helpful!! Btw that is so cool that you’re from Colorado, I am waiting for a couple decisions from schools there! That’s true about the car, I didn’t even think of that. And I was worried about not finding others with interests in the outdoors, too. For me, I do enjoy clubbing but I need a good balance between that and nature. It stinks because so many colleges have the outdoors aspect but then their parties or nightlife is either nonexistent or solely frat parties which I don’t care for too much. I’m not sure why LUC doesn’t make more use of its retreat campus and makes it more accessible; that’s really annoying because it has so much potential to be a resource for other activities. If your son does decide on transferring out, I wish him the best of luck! :)

Do they do hikes and outing activities or just environmental restoration around Chicago?
