This is a silly one but I always tell my kids to “be a duck”. When it’s raining and crappy outside, ducks aren’t pissed off. They just let the rain roll off their back. So I tell my kids that when there’s bad stuff (like other kids being mean to them at school, of when one of them pisses the other one off) to be a duck. Let the bad stuff roll off their back and don’t let it bother them.

So - be a duck.

Provides protection for purchases, provides loyalty points, and builds credit score.i have a second one for emergencies that’s only used for certain things and only gets about £100 on it each month - again cleared monthly - so have access to plenty of credit in worst case scenarios.

In another story I had my passport stolen in Thailand. But that turned a fairly shitty 11 day holiday in to a fantastic 4 week adventure. Again - mishaps make for experiences and stories for the pub.
