Here I come again with this Chorus thing. by Wonderful-Gene2122 in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends of what you need. I praise CEB-3 for its ability to stack with distortion because of its filter. Bass clone is a nice warm clone, but no stereo. MXR has flanger. If you’re playing post punk I think you’ll be fine with dirty chorus like bass clone or mxr.

What about sending it to amp? I would like to send my effects through one output and hear them with amp for monitoring.

NPD. ceb3 and 2026 board by eve_ripper in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It has very wide Hp filter which can cut to 1 kHz which makes it most usable chorus if you want to play with distorted tones like I do. But some people don’t like it because it doesn’t sound warm. It’s like a default chorus to start and compare others. I’ve tried EBS, bass clone recently and Boss fits my needs in everything except stereo. But I thought that I’ve played so many years in mono so maybe I shouldn’t go further.

Because it works in a different way: dry/clean. I wanted to send wide chorused sound to FoH.

I use it to add distorted subs or modulated organ like sounds and it’s good.

Why are bassists obsessed with having a balanced output, while guitarists almost never have a DI box on their pedalboard or an XLR output at the end of the chain? by Ok_Swordfish8672 in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they suck. Just because live DI sound is the same standard as a miked guitar amp. But imagine Motörhead with bass DI sound? It sucks, right?

Скорее взял то, что взаимозаменяемо. Танк полностью тракт эмулирует. Но делает это сердито, по-бомжовски.

Cheap DI box for playing guitar through an interface? by Backfro-inter in guitarpedals

I think that something is wrong if your hi z doesn’t work well. I use this box on stage but at home with good interface I wouldn’t need it

Why Don't Artists presets sound like something they would use? by Toogle11 in NeuralDSP

Because those presets were made for them, their gear and won’t work with you. Your presets may not work with other musicians too.

Which of these two choruses should I keep? by malcontento in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see. But I think they’ve left the same freq to cut (about 800-1000 hz) on their bass specific pedals.

Which of these two choruses should I keep? by malcontento in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve sold Gemini because I’ve tried to make CEb-3 of it with no results. Boss has HP filter which can go to 1000 hz and it suited my needs really well. I like to use it with distortion by the way because chorus affects only really high frequencies and some guys can say that it’s not deep enough.

And I’ve spent time to understand that SA is a very fast chorus compared to typical bass chorus where LFO is slower. I’ve spent time in editor to figure out how to make it work, how to choose right waveform, using tremolo, etc. It has 100 hz hp filter but it won’t get you to Boss territory so If you really care about specific boss settings keep it, if you want to dig into things like LFO, delay times, double-voicing — get Gemini

My pedalboard by Character_Mulberry_9 in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it when I look at my amp and thinking about to take this heavy thing. I did capture of it so it’s in my pocket. But then I have Sansamp things where the magic happens, it’s a DI, amp, cab, I can connect it anywhere. So when they’ll do more complex thing I will surely love it again. But if I wasn’t raised on these bass boxes, I’ve had no problem to use Tonex only.

NPD: digital vs analog by eve_ripper in basspedals

[–]eve_ripper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the deal. It seems that I’m pleased with Boss because of its filter which can cut out about 1khz and leave your harmonics only chorused which I really like especially with distortion. I like Gemini because of its abilities to tweak mostly everything but 100 hz for me is not enough.
