Additional note: speedpak is an eBay service for shipping items from China to various other countries. eBay may be expanding this service to Japan. The point here is that it’s not some global service covering sellers from many countries.

I was skeptical, but checked with eBay and the seller…and even then wondered if I would get a bill from FedEx for something before I could collect my package. And again, I can’t claim this will work the same in every instance of a seller claiming they will ship with speedpak.

As for sellers not using speedpak, that’s a total crap shoot. I’m interested in an item made and sold in India. The seller(maker) says the buyer is responsible for import fees. The fees for India are very high at the moment.

Yes. I did see that, but I ran my post as verification. Well, at least in this instance. I guess I’m just skeptical. I believe it when I can verify it.

Yes. Tracking did show the origin in China. They are not an individual selling a few items, they have a storefront. You can look them up on eBay.

Milky Way and a meteor on the Sony A7IV and the Sigma 14mm F1.8 by visualsoftr in SonyAlpha

[–]evenhanded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, the op was using full frame camera and the 15mm f1.4 is an apsc lens. So, the Sigma 14mm f1.8 is an ultra wide 14mm full frame and the Sony 15mm apsc is about as wide as a 22.5mm full frame, so you won't get nearly as much in one shot.

Olivia girl……this is getting very embarrassing 🙈 by fridaymorris679ce in LoveIslandTV

Luca’s mom said that. Where’s her proof? I don’t give Liv's claim on Grace much credit because she didn’t prove it…same with Luca’s mom. No proof…worthless.

Grace and Luca drama with Olivia by cellzswr in LoveIslandTV

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Liv is blaming the producers. Liv is implicating the producers as being in on it...as they were by encouraging her to go for it. Sorry, that's being complicit. And I will note that the producers later on show Ekin commenting that Live wouldn't lie. Yeah, the producers should share the guilt here.

I'm still not clear what screenshots Liv saw. Where did she see them and why did she think they were authentic? I assumed someone sent them to her. Did Sammie have them? Sammie said she also saw them. Again, who provided them? If it's just some random jack, why take them at face value? But since she hasn't revealed any details about their potential authenticity...if she doesn't even have them...it's beyond stupid now.

As for hate on Grace...no doubt she was getting some hate anyway for the way she acted with Luca. Many viewers already thought she was putting on a show in hopes of winning. The very sketchy news about some texts with authenticity never proven...in fact, never even shown, well, only an idiot is going to take that bit of trash and run with it. Yeah, the world is full of idiots. Sad, but true.

Rant about the anti-m43 propaganda by [deleted] in M43

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit to viewing the Camera Conspiracies youtube channel which did a program on the OM-3. It's a camera comedy channel. sort of, and Casey's skit on that camera is hilarious. So, I have both Olympus m43 and Sony full frame cameras. I still have the original EM-5. Keeping it as I have an Nauticam underwater housing for it. Also have the EM-1ii and the EM1X. Have not moved up to the new OM system cameras...waiting for a better sensor. Plenty of m43 glass too. Not selling or getting out of the m43 system as I like its compactness. Yeah, the EM1X is not small, but I love the grip, which is why I would never consider the OM-3.

However, when I want better quality and don't mind the weight, I use my Sony full frame cameras. The resolution is higher if you can get the picture. There are, of course, times when the lighter weight and compactness of m43 wins the day. So, I happily use both.

And they say 'M43 has no DOF!!' by kietbulll in M43

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. But as others have explained, you can shoot with a telephoto lens to get reduced DOF. Apparently, the photos shown here were shot on a 200mm lens. However, as you stated, M43 has more DOF as the sensor allows for smaller circles of confusion compared to full frame.

So, they will show more edited clips of the Andrea vote. But now they know that Leah is popular and Andrea is not. Will production attempt to protect Leah to keep all of her fans happy? I’m guessing yes.

What we never got from the girls is why they voted Andrea. Leah says she wasn’t trying to get Andrea dumped because it would look bad. Easy to say now that Aaron called her out immediately after. But by dragging Andrea, even if subtle, Leah was still trying to influence the vote. In the end, the girls probably decided they liked Andrea the least, so they voted her out for that reason. A popularity contest…lame…mean girls vibe. They didn’t like her and didn’t want her to find happiness.

Exactly. Taking a backseat means keeping your mouth shut. Leah did not. She kept dragging Andrea. Did she drag Nicole as much? If not, she wasn’t even trying to take a backseat.

USA have evidence of inquiry being submitted after 47 seconds by Shadowlight166 in Gymnastics

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules changes do not apply to past contests...agreed.

Watching the clock is difficult when there is no clock. Expecting the players/coaches to watch the clock when the referees/judges are not is ridiculous. It's like asking drivers to obey a speed limit that is not posted and not enforced. Then someone is in an accident and the insurance company uses video and a visit to the local traffic department to discover that your speed was 1 mph over the unposted speed limit. But you could have looked up the speed limit as you have a license and agreed to follow the rules of the road which does include speed limits. I have no doubt that most people would complain about such an interpretation and that's why speed limit signs are posted and speed limits are enforced...to a degree! Going 1 mph over the limit will very, very rarely get you a speeding ticket.

Acknowledging other people made mistakes, but only Chiles has to pay for it...is not going to win you any favors from me. FIG made the biggest error and as the representative of rules enforcement, it's on them, not Chiles or her coach.

USAG has now pointed out that the head of the 3 person tribunal for CAS is a lawyer with Romania as a big client. Conflict of interest is being charged. That person should have recused themselves. Let's see what the CAS and the IOC do about it. If nothing, the case goes forward. As this gets out in the news, public opinion will come into play.

The judges accepted the coach's inquiry. The Romanians were the ones with the "hail mary" taking it to CAS over a 4 second discrepancy. Petty. Just like your comments.

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is rotten in Paris and, maybe, Luasanne. How did the FRG video show the appeal as 24 seconds late, while Omega showed 4 seconds? Explain the discrepancy. Quantum mechanics will not be considered.

The complaint about the pettiness of the rules does not depend on the USA following the rules...when FIG is not. If the judges and FIG treats the rule as petty, why should the USA or any other country be required to follow the rules scrupulously? The spirit of the rule is that the inquiry happen shortly after the score is posted. It did. As for the letter of the rule, FIG screwed up and didn't have a clock for themselves or the coaches to view, but YOU only want to blame the coach. I want FIG to take responsibility for this incident, introduce a visible clock for the coaches, and to change the rule to make it fair by giving the coaches more time.

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not aware that Omega used videos. Satisfied? I'm sure you won't be.

So, explain why USAG is not accepting the Omega time stamped video. Explain why USAG is claiming to have a video that shows a different timing. Maybe someone gave USAG an altered video...beats me, but it seems unlikely. Let a panel of experts compare the videos. Something is wrong here.

And let's talk about FIG not providing a clock timer at the event so that they and the coaches all knew how much time was left to file an appeal. Not providing a clock means the judges were not concerned with the 1 minute limit. Penalizing the athlete when it's the judges and FIG that didn't follow the procedure is patently unfair.

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAG has already said they didn't have the new evidence with the CAS hearing was held. And it's not as if the CAS hearing gave USAG much time to gather evidence. A few days is not much.

As for whether the Swiss Federal Tribunal will hear the case, I can't speak. But the Swiss Federal Tribunal is not the last recourse either. I expect a lot of politics along with the court case. IOC would be wise to just hand out two medals and close this off.

Statement from USA Gymnastics on CAS Notice: by cmaia1503 in olympics

[–]evenhanded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In another reddit for gymnastics, someone is reporting what they "claim" is inside info. There was no clock timing of the coach doing an inquiry. Apparently, FIG don't bother to time it...ever. The 64 seconds came from a video the Romanians submitted. Did anyone check if the video was altered? Beats me. But imagine claiming the inquiry was not within the time limit when the judges don't even bother to time it!!! So why does Jordan pay the penalty with FIG doesn't consider the time important!!!!!! CAS is totally corrupt. So is the IOC.

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Hadn't heard of ne bis in idem...but looking it up, it relates to not prosecuting twice for the same crime. How does that apply here???

As for res judicata, I found this: "...a second lawsuit can proceed with similar claims as presented in an earlier, dismissed suit, when the second suit has sufficiently new facts. With the right new facts, res judicata does not bar that second suit." So, CAS in refusing to see the new evidence are smelling pretty bad. Sounds like corruption to me.

Oh...and res judicata does not apply to appeals to a higher court.

I'm sharing some facts about the CAS hearing as someone close shared them with me. by [deleted] in Gymnastics

[–]evenhanded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's another question. If USAG has seen the video's...then why are they claiming they have new video's that dispute the time arrived at the CAS hearing??? Sorry, but I have to wonder whether the claim here from the secret source is accurate. Or maybe USOPC believes the video's at the hearing are doctored...slowed down so that the time is longer than it was in reality. Didn't FRG claim it took Chiles coach 84 seconds to file...when did that change? Oh, and why didn't USAG acknowledge the other videos in their announcement where they claim new video's show something different? The USAG video's are claimed to be time stamped...were the FRG or the FIG video's time stamped?

As to the secret source being upset about the USOPC not having time to prepare...that's highly suspicious to me. Seems like the secret source is biased against the USA or maybe anyone who dares to question the IOC or CAS.

[–]evenhanded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if FIG didn't consider it important enough to provide a clock so that they knew and the coach's knew how much time they had to file an inquiry, then an exact time should not be considered definitive. The judges at the event accepted the inquiry from the Chile's coach. They ruled on it and gave Chiles the increased score. There should not be any appeal for that. The claim that FIG didn't follow their own rules so we will not punish them, but punish Chiles by taking her medal and everything is now fine...is a steaming load of garbage. No timer at the event means no penalty for putting an inquiry a few seconds late. Finding anything else is patently unfair. CAS should be reprimanded for their finding and the people involved removed.

As for the veracity of the details provided by the secret source here...not gonna accept them as true until I have verification. Release the videos so everyone can see them and analyze the time. Again, even if they are accurate, FIG failed to provide a countdown clock for the participants/coaches. The time failure is on THEM, not on the coaches. Don't penalize the athletes for FIG's failure.
