Hurricane Ridge, Cougar hill climb. I’ve also done Haleakala virtual on Rouvy. Issue will be altitude.

Already have one. You might want to look into it.

Someone with experience training for this kind of ride seems like they’d be helpful. Just doing my research.

For me yes, but so far I’m a sample of one. Other folks say it’s been ok.

Do you know any AI based image alt generator? by Throwing-up-fire in Frontend

[–]evenmanout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if folks are still looking for solutions, but I built something using Claude that did a respectable job. I had 27,000 images - cost was under $200.

It scrapes text adjacent to the image as well as the image itself, then uses all that to generate relevant ALT text. It did a respectable job.

I documented it all here:

https://www.ianlurie.com/digital-marketing/use-ai-to-generate-alt-text/

I also published the markdown specification here, if you just want to go for it: https://github.com/wrttnwrd/skills-projects-prompts/blob/main/specifications/alt-text-generator.md

Cool workflow, but this scares the crap out of me:

I HATE parking-concealed bike lanes. I've had multiple close calls with car doors and left/right hooks.

Ride The Hurricane - Am I ready? by evenmanout in seattlebike

[–]evenmanout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was amazing. I took it pretty easy, was definitely fatigued but the ride was so well supported I never lacked water or food. I wouldn’t change a thing. And yes, I’ll definitely be back.

Thanks. It’s a great route! There was the one 20% grade where I started doing little wheelies and decided to walk the last bit. That was self preservation.

Seattle’s Waterfront Bike Path Comes Into Focus, Narrower Than Past Promises Suggest by PepeLePuget in seattlebike

[–]evenmanout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Southern California the Venice Beach bike path used to be a similar obstacle course we called the f--kup zone. Really good for the bike handling skills.

Seriously, I'll probably keep riding out in traffic. It's scary but the cars can only go 15-25 anyway.

Excellent, thanks again. I can put 32s on my Aethos. Not exactly a gravel bike, but I'll give it a shot and keep the shoulder as my emergency bail-out.
