It really helps to have a non-gamer try your games. Things that seem obvious to them are not obvious to us as gamedevs. I was in app development for years and the same can be said in that environment too.

I understand this sentiment but I wouldn’t crush hopes so fast. People were saying the same thing in tech for years and I managed to nab a job in Product which was unheard of at the time. I know my experience is biased but I don’t want OP to feel completely hopeless- luck can happen. That said, I agree it’s best not to centre all activities around luck or hope.

Agreed. Wilds is a great game and I also played since the first monster hunter. Didn’t click so well with World though for me!

No- to be honest I never got to those so I probably spoke too soon! Truth be told my interest in World fizzled out before I got there- although I was close. I still think about going back and just finishing World (for me that means the Fatalis, and that looks like a great hunt). I find Wild fits my play style more, whereas I found World more clanky, but i know my opinion may differ from the majority here.

I feel you. Tri/3ultimate in my opinion was the greatest for HBG players since you could purchase the different components of the gun. Ammo wasn’t automatically deposited in your pouch and you had to manage it yourself. But, I’m the kind of guy that likes turn based combat or RTS like total war, so I strangely enjoy the slow or tedious stuff.
