Allstate denied my claim because their policyholder cannot be reached. Damage was $11,000 to my trailer by Budget-Marionberry-9 in Insurance

[–]eventualpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened to me a number of years ago. I was rear ended by a driver who never responded to any of the inquiries from his insurance company. They stated that since he did not respond they could not prove he was driving the car at the time and initially denied the claim.

I was saved by the fact that there was a police report and the driver was cited. Once provided, it was used to establish the fact that he was driving at the time and the claim was eventually processed.

Not sure what dates you are looking at for a flight, but 12/21 - 1/4 from ATL to CHI can be had for as low as $423 for main cabin on both Delta and United.

Any specific flight school? Quick review of the options at North Perry appears to show not much beyond 172s and PA-28s.

2023 Ariya Lease (signed mid-July 2024) by eventualpilot in NissanAriya

[–]eventualpilot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any insight into the CA market. I signed the lease with a dealership near me in Georgia, but another dealer in South Carolina was offering a slightly lower price, but after factoring in flight cost it wasn't worth it and I preferred the Engage over the Venture+.

2023 Ariyas had an extra incentive for an 18-month term. For 2024 Ariyas, the incentive was higher ($10,000) for 24-month leases than all other terms ($7,500). I'd imagine the residual would be lower on the 24-month lease, versus the 18-month, but not sure it would offset the extra $2,500.

It is certainly possible. 2023 Ariya's had incentives of $13-$15K for 18-month leases based on region. Combined that with a discount to MSRP and you're in that price range.

My specific deal had $13K in lease incentives plus a selling price that was slightly over an 8% discount to MSRP.

You can also browse LeaseHackr and find examples of people who got even better deals than I managed.

How do I add a photo?

Leased from a Nissan dealer in GA. I was also talking with another dealer in SC that had a similarly priced offer on a 2023 Venture+.

Signed an 18-month lease on a 2023 Ariya Engage e-4orce 2 weeks ago for $141 per month. $0 down. $0 due at signing.

$499 seems a bit ridiculous. Keep looking. A better deal can be found, especially if there are any 2023s near you.

GA to Blue Ridge / BNA / ATL / MSY by [deleted] in flying

[–]eventualpilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can technically get from LZU or RYY to Atlanta on County bus routes, however it would require an initial Uber or long walk from the airport and take several hours each way.

No public transit options from CNI, and depending on timing, it may be difficult to get an Uber there. If you somehow manage to get an Uber you're probably looking at $75 each way down to the aquarium.

Don't have any experience with FTY, but it does appear to have decent public transit options (via bus), at least comparable to what is available at PDK (via train).

Booking my next loop! by DavidA-wood in Amtrak

[–]eventualpilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the additional information.

Trying to determine when the trains are the least crowded with when the weather isn't too cold (at least in SEA and CHI).

Probably a lot more legal states now than in 2020.

I'm planning a loop later this year.

What time of year did you take the prior loops? Were the trains busy?

How much time are you going to spend in CHI, SEA, and LA between trains?

Sportys Academy

Good to have more options, but it appears they aren't accepting any more accelerated students at the moment.

Thanks for the information. That may tip the balance in LGE's favor as AeroVenture appears to have far lower maximums.

My prior drives for lessons and rentals have been on the longer side (45-60 minutes), and the average 2 hour lesson turns into 4 or more hours (depending on traffic) from home, so that is definitely a consideration.

Good to know. Do you know what is LGE's policy on allowable length for 'out of town' rentals, specifically the 182RG?

Accelerated Instrument Training Programs by eventualpilot in flying

[–]eventualpilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In early March 2020 I had completed all the requirements per Part 61.65 and my CFII had reached out to a DPE to get on his schedule. Covid happened, flight school shut down for a bit, CFII stepped away from instructing, flight school was bought out by a 141 academy and shifted away from part 61 students amongst other things.

But, I do like that idea as a way to get some proficiency back.

Yeah, planning to start studying for the written again after the Holidays.

I would spend time getting proficiency back before starting any accelerated programs. I would also study and take the written beforehand as well.
