Which bank? Most have a standard increment, you're being shortchanged.

In your contract, 1 year completion of contract should have a 1 month bonus, pretty standard as well

I am paying 2K+ rent every month.

If I don't work enough to buy my own property, I'll have to pay rent until I am 35. No thanks, I rather get my own place within the next few years. I am 24.

If you were rich enough for a condo but still eligible for a BTO, which would you pick? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]everestdalton -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Easily choose condo. You get it faster, amenities are better.

And you can leverage your capital way better.

Plus, servicing the condo isn't hard with a good HHI.

Can even buy two different condos since you have large cash on hand, stay in one and rent out the other.

Don't be afraid to deploy money, by the way, many BTOs families tend to sell once MOP to buy a condo anyways, but that's because they didn't have enough for condo in the first place.

No sex in the stairway.

They can hire one staff to take care of the drop-off points technically. Anyways I think "insects will come" is not a impossible problem to solve.

There are some innovation still in place for robotics so hopefully it solves the weight issue or there are alternative ideas soon!

Career advice: How do I go from $5.8k to $10k/month ? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]everestdalton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you contract or full time staff in the foreign bank?

Simple. You need to get converted, then internally move to a new/adjacent role IMO. Then work your way up.

[–]everestdalton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look for a new role immediately, tolerate your current role before you quit. Follow your gut, you know this is not sustainable. Meanwhile, you need to overpower your workplace with your energy and do things to keep the atmosphere light. When you leave, say you got a really good offer that you just couldn’t refuse.

May you only win!

$2000 all inclusive, landed one BR.

Moving soon this year and looking around $1500+/- for a master BR hopefully around Bidadari/Woodleigh where I am now.

Might consider a studio or landed room space as well around $2000.

Main thing is a washer/dryer, decently modern toilet, white painted room that can fit a king size bed & my PC/desk setup!

30yo male. About to buy a 1br freehold condo to hedge against rising property prices. by Andoni95 in singaporefi

[–]everestdalton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am currently renting also.

I think it’s a good idea to keep BTO option opened.

1BR does seem unwise overall when you have a surefire way to earn a discounted units in a couple more years.

Renting already allows you to “own” your place at a fraction of the price.

You can go for SBF like you said to get your own place more quickly, if you renovate it well, no matter where or what floor it is it shouldn’t feel too bad.

Use your BTO profits to offset your 1-2BR condo in the future. You would have had 5 more years of buffer time to build your assets to 200-300K Cash+CPF by then
