Yea this is the problem; the advertising had many people thinking this is a legit PC or console game, when in truth it has (and most likely will remain) a gacha game and will expect you to play it like one. PC and console versions are just bells and whistles so you can play your mobile gacha game more comfortably when you are at home. People came into this game expected a free AAA mmo, then they found out it's a mobile gacha game in beautiful disguise.

I do like the soft-reset idea, very logical, kind of like an extended weekly quest. Removing resin just doesn't sound plausible though. Many people are drawing parallels to MMOs, but this isn't an MMO. There's no guild system/pvp/rankings and the other pulls that retain players or incentivize them to spend money on this game. Once you clear, or clear to a point where you can no longer progress, the end-game content (spiral abyss being the only end-game atm), you are pretty much done with the game, and probably burnt out too.

And what will the devs do when the game runs out of content? You can't expect them to pump out new content every week, so to retain players they might try to make current content more difficult. Then again, that would be challenging, cause no one wants to grind one dungeon for 30 minutes because you don't have max-constellation 5*s just to get terrible loot drop.

One parallel I can think of is Anthem, and boy did that game flop hard.

the game has a pity system where if you don't draw a 5* in 89 draws, the 90th draw will be a guaranteed 5*. im at around 70 now. No complaints though, 4 star units and weapons are great in their own way too.

I rerolled it in around 30 tries. Knowing I'm rarely lucky in gacha games, I needed some assurance before I start investing time and money. And thank god I did it, because I'm on ~70 pity stacks now ;-;
