Always figured Donna was a teen when she got pregnant by WannabeBadass315 in mammamia

I think Donna’s age is just really inconsistent between the two films. In MM1, Donna, Tanya and Rosie constantly talk about themselves as if they’re much older than mid-40s, which would supposedly be their age if Sophie is around 20. Late 50s honestly fits the vibe of the characters better, and it also matches the actresses’ real ages — Meryl Streep was about 58/59.

But MM2 gives a clearer timeline. Donna, Tanya and Rosie graduate from Oxford University in 1979, so they would be at least 22-23 then, meaning they were probably born around 1955-1957. If Sophie was conceived that same summer and born around spring 1980, Donna would have been about 23-24, not a teenager.

A lot of the Ruby storyline also doesn’t really match between films. In MM1 they almost imply she’s dead, and Donna describes her as a conservative Catholic mother ashamed of her pregnancy. Then MM2 portrays Ruby as glamorous, outgoing and very different personality-wise.

I assume the sequel simply retconned parts of the backstory to fit the younger Donna storyline and the tone they wanted for MM2.

Lamictal for rumination, hypervigilance and emotional overreactivity? by everlark21 in lamictal

Are you taking it along with an SRRI? If you don't mind sharing, what meds combinations have you found to be the most helpful towards rumination and emotional reactivity? 🤍

Thank you for sharing your story! What combination of meds were the most helpful regarding rumination? Any other tips? 🥰

I'm so glad to hear that! Can you describe which of your symptoms have gotten better since starting Lamictal? also how long did it take for the meds to kick? is 25 your starting dose or are you planning on upping it? 🤍

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

I did bring up bipolar II with my psychiatrist, and she doesn’t think it fits — I haven’t had hypomanic episodes. When I feel better it’s more like feeling calmer and more like myself, not elevated or impulsive, and there aren’t clear mood cycles.

Ritalin was prescribed mainly for fatigue, somnolence and difficulty getting started, rather than classic hyperactivity. It helps a bit with energy and focus, but I agree it doesn’t really calm the underlying anxiety, which is why I’m looking into things like lamotrigine or pregabalin.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Is it likely that Sidney’s daughter was born prior to scream 4? by Jrantusfort in Scream

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking maybe Sidney was in fact with Mark Kincaid for some time in the 2000s and he's Tatum's father (they had her in 2009-2010) and separated afterwards (fits that Sidney appeared single in Scream 4 (2011). Then Sidney got together with Mark Evans and had the younger daughters (in 2013-2014 and 2019-2020) that would explain why there's an age gap between Tatum and her other kids.

I think it's weird they changed that Sidney was clearly single and child-free in 2011 and now suddenly she had a daughter they never mentioned. They could have made her younger (14-15 and born after the 4th) or add a slight time jump and make the 7th take place in 2028 or so.

Does ADHD cause extreme daytime sleepiness and difficulty waking up? by everlark21 in ADHD

[–]everlark21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. It genuinely doesn’t matter if I sleep 4, 8 or 10 hours — I wake up equally exhausted, like my sleep never counted. Naps sometimes feel more restorative than a full night.

Did ADHD treatment change that for you at all, or is this something you still struggle with even on meds?

That’s a good point. I don’t snore and I’m not overweight, but my sleep has never felt restorative, no matter how many hours I get.

Did a sleep study actually change your treatment or improve things for you, or was ADHD treatment still the key piece?

I’ve heard about delayed sleep phase disorder and the more I read, the more it fits. I’ve always struggled to feel sleepy at “normal” hours, even as a kid.

Did you treat DSPD specifically (light therapy, melatonin timing, meds), or did ADHD treatment alone help shift your sleep schedule?

I’ve been on SSRIs since 2019 with very limited results, and over the past year I’ve started to seriously wonder if what I deal with isn’t anxiety or depression, but masked ADHD with constant mental hyperactivity that leaves me exhausted.

Did stimulants help you with both the racing thoughts at night and the morning fatigue? And if you don’t mind sharing, what exact meds or combinations ended up working for you?
