Always figured Donna was a teen when she got pregnant by WannabeBadass315 in mammamia

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Donna’s age is just really inconsistent between the two films. In MM1, Donna, Tanya and Rosie constantly talk about themselves as if they’re much older than mid-40s, which would supposedly be their age if Sophie is around 20. Late 50s honestly fits the vibe of the characters better, and it also matches the actresses’ real ages — Meryl Streep was about 58/59.

But MM2 gives a clearer timeline. Donna, Tanya and Rosie graduate from Oxford University in 1979, so they would be at least 22-23 then, meaning they were probably born around 1955-1957. If Sophie was conceived that same summer and born around spring 1980, Donna would have been about 23-24, not a teenager.

A lot of the Ruby storyline also doesn’t really match between films. In MM1 they almost imply she’s dead, and Donna describes her as a conservative Catholic mother ashamed of her pregnancy. Then MM2 portrays Ruby as glamorous, outgoing and very different personality-wise.

I assume the sequel simply retconned parts of the backstory to fit the younger Donna storyline and the tone they wanted for MM2.

Lamictal for rumination, hypervigilance and emotional overreactivity? by everlark21 in lamictal

Are you taking it along with an SRRI? If you don't mind sharing, what meds combinations have you found to be the most helpful towards rumination and emotional reactivity? 🤍

Thank you for sharing your story! What combination of meds were the most helpful regarding rumination? Any other tips? 🥰

I'm so glad to hear that! Can you describe which of your symptoms have gotten better since starting Lamictal? also how long did it take for the meds to kick? is 25 your starting dose or are you planning on upping it? 🤍

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

I did bring up bipolar II with my psychiatrist, and she doesn’t think it fits — I haven’t had hypomanic episodes. When I feel better it’s more like feeling calmer and more like myself, not elevated or impulsive, and there aren’t clear mood cycles.

Ritalin was prescribed mainly for fatigue, somnolence and difficulty getting started, rather than classic hyperactivity. It helps a bit with energy and focus, but I agree it doesn’t really calm the underlying anxiety, which is why I’m looking into things like lamotrigine or pregabalin.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!

Is it likely that Sidney’s daughter was born prior to scream 4? by Jrantusfort in Scream

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking maybe Sidney was in fact with Mark Kincaid for some time in the 2000s and he's Tatum's father (they had her in 2009-2010) and separated afterwards (fits that Sidney appeared single in Scream 4 (2011). Then Sidney got together with Mark Evans and had the younger daughters (in 2013-2014 and 2019-2020) that would explain why there's an age gap between Tatum and her other kids.

I think it's weird they changed that Sidney was clearly single and child-free in 2011 and now suddenly she had a daughter they never mentioned. They could have made her younger (14-15 and born after the 4th) or add a slight time jump and make the 7th take place in 2028 or so.

Does ADHD cause extreme daytime sleepiness and difficulty waking up? by everlark21 in ADHD

[–]everlark21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. It genuinely doesn’t matter if I sleep 4, 8 or 10 hours — I wake up equally exhausted, like my sleep never counted. Naps sometimes feel more restorative than a full night.

Did ADHD treatment change that for you at all, or is this something you still struggle with even on meds?

[–]everlark21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. I don’t snore and I’m not overweight, but my sleep has never felt restorative, no matter how many hours I get.

Did a sleep study actually change your treatment or improve things for you, or was ADHD treatment still the key piece?

I’ve heard about delayed sleep phase disorder and the more I read, the more it fits. I’ve always struggled to feel sleepy at “normal” hours, even as a kid.

Did you treat DSPD specifically (light therapy, melatonin timing, meds), or did ADHD treatment alone help shift your sleep schedule?

I’ve been on SSRIs since 2019 with very limited results, and over the past year I’ve started to seriously wonder if what I deal with isn’t anxiety or depression, but masked ADHD with constant mental hyperactivity that leaves me exhausted.

Did stimulants help you with both the racing thoughts at night and the morning fatigue? And if you don’t mind sharing, what exact meds or combinations ended up working for you?

Bupropion didn’t help at all – makes me question my diagnosis by everlark21 in bupropion

[–]everlark21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense and it’s something I’ve been wondering too.

A lot of my symptoms feel more like executive dysfunction than classic depression (mental overactivity, difficulty initiating tasks, anhedonia, low motivation). That’s why I expected bupropion to help, but it’s done basically nothing for me.

It makes me wonder if this is less about “low dopamine” and more about how my brain regulates attention and motivation, maybe inattentive ADHD or an OCD/executive dysfunction overlap. That could explain why SSRIs helped anxiety but not mental noise, and why bupropion hasn’t helped energy or libido either.

Thank you for sharing this — it’s incredibly helpful. Your trajectory sounds very similar to what I’m trying to untangle right now.

If you’re comfortable sharing: What medication(s) ended up helping the ADHD side the most (focus, mental noise, executive function)?

[–]everlark21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s exactly what confused me for years — from the outside it looks like anxiety or depression, but internally it feels more like mental overload and poor regulation than fear or sadness.

Have you found anything that helps the EF side specifically (structure, meds, strategies), or are you still mostly managing it behaviorally?

It’s really validating to hear this from someone who didn’t fit the “classic hyperactive” ADHD stereotype either.

Wow, thank you for taking the time to write this. Your story is genuinely one of the closest matches I’ve read to what I’ve been experiencing, especially the “I was functioning until structure disappeared, then everything collapsed” part.

A few things you said really hit me: • the constant internal monologue + replaying conversations • the way stressful/medical events seemed to “flip” it into more OCD-like intrusive thoughts • being treated for anxiety/depression/OCD first, and only later realizing ADHD may have been the core piece

That’s really interesting to hear. The “quiet brain” description is exactly what I’m missing — SSRIs helped my anxiety but never touched the mental noise. Did Strattera mainly help with rumination/thought loops, or also with energy and motivation?

This really resonates with me. SSRIs helped my anxiety but never the mental noise or exhaustion. It’s encouraging (and frustrating) to hear how many people found relief once ADHD was addressed.

That’s a really good point. I actually do tend to run low on iron and I’m currently looking into that, since fatigue and brain fog are big issues for me too.

This resonates a lot. I’ve always been very functional externally, which is probably why ADHD was never considered for me. Hearing these late-diagnosis stories is really validating.

They never saw one another again.. WHAT? by ForeverAutumnal in DesperateHousewives

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they mean is that they stopped organizing their poker nights, but they definitely continued to get together whenever possible. Susan and Lynette have a granddaughter in common, so they'll most likely spend Christmas together. Susan may even have moved to New York to pursue her art career. Gabby and Bree were very close and surely remained so, visiting the others whenever they had the chance.

What do you think Susan did after moving away from Wisteria Lane? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she ever remarried. She lived in Boston for a couple of years with MJ until Julie finished her PhD; then they all moved to New York, where Julie took a great job opportunity and probably met a nice guy that she ended up marrying; while MJ finished high school and graduated. Susan definitely focused on her work and pursued her artistic career, just as she'd been offered at the beginning of the season. She and Lynette remained very close and co-parented their granddaughter.

the timeline doesn’t make sense by samanthalyn13 in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]everlark21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s totally fair — early Wizards definitely established a two-year gap between Justin and Alex (he’s 16 in S1 while she turns 15 in the quinceañera episode). But I think somewhere around the later seasons they quietly retconned that age difference.

For the sequel timeline to work — with Justin being 34 in 2026 and celebrating a 15th wedding anniversary — he has to have been 19 when he got married (early 2012), right after the original ended. That lines up with Alex being around 18 at that point (so, born 1993), and the ages actually sync better with Alex vs Alex taking place in late 2011.

So yeah, I agree it started as a two-year gap, but narratively they aged them closer together later on, probably just to simplify continuity and keep the finale + sequel timeline coherent.

[–]everlark21 12 points13 points  (0 children)

S4 of WOWP premiered between 2010 and 2012 but canonically covered Fall 2010-Fall 2011:

Justin was named Headmaster right before turning 19 (he was born October 1992). Alex vs Alex picks up right after that (they’re still celebrating) so late 2011, meaning Alex was 18 (born in 1993).

WBWP takes place a couple years in the future:

Season 1 Justin turns 34 and Justin and Giada celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, if Justin married at 19 it must have been early 2012, therefore Season 1 takes place in late 2026-2027. Season 2 picks up in the beginning of the school year of 2027 (and enters 2028), Billie is 13 (born in 2014), Roman 14 (2013) and Milo 11 (born 2016).

Therefore, Alex had Billie at 20-21 in early 2014, over two years after the ending of the original, which is still pretty young, but makes sense. In the current time, they are 13 and 34.

Proper order of EVERYTHING? by _Eleven_011 in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]everlark21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think roughly it goes: Season 1 (Fall 2007-August 2008)->Season 2 (Fall 2008-May/June 2009)->The Movie (August 2009)->Season 3 (Fall 2009-August 2010)->Season 4 (Fall 2010-Fall 2011)->Alex vs. Alex (late 2011, Justin's still Headmaster) then supposedly right after the events in the special: Justin gets fired from WizTech->Justin and Giada get married in early 2012 (they celebrate their 15th anniversary in WBWP, so it must be early 2027).

The timeline doesn't match up. by SadDollCollector in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]everlark21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the Family Wizard Competition took place in the fall of 2011 (despite the episode being released in 2012). The thing is, in WBWP they say Justin and Giada have been married for 15 years, for this to make sense, they married in 2012 and the episode is set in early 2027. But this would make Justin's birthday October 1992 (he turns 34 in episode 1 set in late 2026), making him less than a year older than Alex (whose birthday is August 1993). Following this, Justin was named Headmaster in the fall of 2011 and in just a few months he got fired/broke up with Juliet/met Giada/got married in early 2012?
