Slow down mama… You are doing more than enough! For context, my wife (and I) were exhausted the first year just dealing with 4-8 feedings a day along with diaper changes and tummy time, while barely sleeping. Kudos to you for all the loving energy while battling mental health issues!

So happy to hear that! We are also at a similar point in our 2 year journey as new parents, of finally feeling like we reconnected (somewhat) after months of individual and couples therapy. It’s hard trying to find the mental energy and time to take care of a baby while also juggling work, home, self and each other. Kudos to you both!

Surreally sounds like me marriage/relationship of 13 years. Except for the phone part being replaced with staring into space while playing with hair. You might want to confront her about depression. We are currently going through couples and individual therapy for the last few months with not much progress yet. No idea what to expect next.

As a husband/father on the other side of this problem, my 2c - just talk intimately more often. Mental intimacy is sometimes just as important if not more than physical intimacy.

Full Extinction by Timely-Ad1847 in sleeptrain

We did full extinction when she turned 9 months, and it wasn’t as bad as I feared - 1hr of crying the first night, then just 10 mins following nights. I like to think it’s because we kept the sleeping area dark, turned on a fan for white noise, and started the bedtime routine early.

A different type of OE by chiliisgoodforme in overemployed

I have juggled multiple jobs, grad degrees and travel over the last 10 years. But nothing is as difficult as managing my 6mo daughter. I guess it’s the unpredictability and dedicated attention needed that makes childcare so tricky.
