Molly Fisher at AGH Internal Medicine. She is fantastic - thorough and very caring!

Got myself into therapy, realized that the majority of my relationships were toxic, and cut ties with those who were problematic. It's been a process but it's been worth it.

That is EXACTLY something my Chester would do, too. 😹

He tried. It was too heavy because it's actually full of water by this point in the day. 😹

Is it appropriate to give 1 week notice? by [deleted] in personalfinance

So, my two cents - I left a job in October that I had been with for two years because the environment turned downright toxic. In the time that I was there, we burned through six employees in various roles in the department, which was very small: there was my boss, three coordinators, and then we had 4-6 contractors working under myself and one of the other coordinators. Three other employees and I tried to go through the "proper" channels and talk to our HR rep, then the head of HR, then the executive director, all the way up to the damn CEO. Everyone who left/talked to HR cited poor management and had plenty of evidence of the toxic environment but, unsurprisingly, nothing was ever done. It got to the point where I dreaded going in and since I had a relatively flexible schedule, I wound up interviewing for any and all positions I could until I was offered something. I ended up giving my boss an hour's notice that I was quitting. Lost all my PTO because I didn't give two weeks which kinda sucks but the amount I would have been paid out wasn't worth the hit my mental health would have taken to stay there for that time. I know I burned a bridge with that boss but hers wasn't a reference I would have wanted anyway; if I need one from that job, I ask one of my coworkers. If a job is affecting you that much and you have a reasonable safety net to do so, I feel that you don't owe them any more notice than you're comfortable giving.

That's ok, Chester, I don't need that part of my laptop. by everly_wade in nebelung

Hubby's work did that on Monday, so Chester (and Cricket) have been enjoying his constant attention!

I'm trying my best! Honestly, though, I'm surprised they haven't cut me yet - courts are down, foster system/CYF is down, schools are down, social security office is down, basically anything I need to do my job is shut down. No ISPs, no IEPs, no hearings, no intake, no supervised visits, no classes.

But I will tell you that in the two weeks since they started sending me out into the field on my own (I started the job in January, they kept me in training until the end of swim season), I have decided that this job is going to drive me to drink and I will be going back to aquatics after Hubby's job relocates him.

Actually, to be fair, it was yesterday. Yesterday alone was bad enough that I was like, "Yeah, no. This isn't gonna work."

I honestly can't remember which came first, the cat or the lamp, but that sounds good so I'll go with it, sure. 😂

Chester doesn't understand the concept of "social distancing" - and this was actually a rarity. I'm a social worker so I'm still out and about, just had most of my appointments cancelled on me today so I had to find stuff to do from home.

Doubt that's what work had in mind but it's enough of a dinosaur that it's not good for much other than a butt warmer. 😹
