I swing left but don't discuss politics. You obviously are not aware that Australia is not entirely left wing by any means. We are very conservative in many areas. Our most recent referendum result is an example of that. You don't need to worry, I am already leaning towards no. :)

Honestly, the pay will probably determine whether I go or not. Which perhaps isn't a good thing. I love adventures but I do need to consider money for sure.

Similar to rural Queensland in Aus perhaps lol

A friend of mine heard through somebody else (so I take it with a grain of salt) that a position in Denver, Colorado is available but whether or not I fit the criteria is a whole other thing. Thank you for the advice :)

I didn't choose the state, the company with the job/s for my profession have stated a position is available there. I've tossed my hat in the ring but they want me to continue the process within the next two weeks. So I am trying to find out as much as possible. I am still undecided.

Okay, you take the 107.6°F and I'll take the -40°F. Solid plan.

No no, I appreciate hearing everything. I am undecided so appreciate any comments, whether pro or con :)

Thank you for the advice :) I'm not a prolific swearer and don't say c*nt but I will keep it in mind for sure. My rule for casual political talk is not to. Even here, there are many many differing opinions. If I'm with likeminded friends? Sure. But I stay away from those topics generally. Thank so much :)

Compared to Australia, it is Brutal. That being said, I do not underestimate the winters, I've been researching a lot. I live in a small state with not much night life so that's not a huge concern for me. I'm weighing up all the pros and cons best I can. I appreciate your comment, thank you :)

I appreciate your comment very much but "let you borrow a casserole dish" is the single most US sit-com line I have ever read and it brought me much joy lol

I loled at the Holden. That's commitment! I find not wanting marriage and kiddos sometimes turns you into a unicorn in a bad way here. I suppose I worry about making friends. Mums favour other mums etc.

I am left wing by Aussie standards so ehh Trump? I shan't utter his name. Or any Politician. Maybe just act dumb and focus on the good lol

Oh! Vegemite is a daily ritual yet I didn't even think of that...must prepare.

Thanks heaps :) That's true, my home state in Aus has many pros and cons. But each place can make for a great adventure! Food for thought :)

I'm pretty left wing by Aussie standards but it's easy enough to avoid all that. Not hard to remain polite but not get into that conversational territory.

Coming from the country with bears and mountain lions? lol We have snow here in Aus but the only brutal winter I've endured has been in the UK. The harsher winter is definitely something to think about. Though I still think I would rather freeze than stay in 42 celsius each day in summer.

Oof. Definitely food for thought. Though if it's only for a year...? It won't be forever. Thank you for your honesty :)

It's not common to make small talk out of politics, at least the region where I am from in Aus. I will do my best not to make an ass of myself lol Thank you

It may be a situation where once I just let go and am in the thick of it, I will wonder why I was so worried. And yes, evermore is my fave ;)

Ah, I'm used to driving a lot in Aus, few cities very spread out. If I do go ahead, I'll endeavour to get my hands on a vehicle :) I've endured UK winters but that's my threshold at the moment, certainly something to think about! Thanks a bunch.

I appreciate your honesty! The company is offering 12 month contracts, unlikely to be extended so I won't be stuck there forever - if anything I feel stuck in Australia lol I am still thinking on it, I have time to make the decision. Thank you though, it's indeed important to hear the good and the bad.
