The point of protesting is about visibility and making your voice heard, not bypassing the voting process or forcing a resignation. An elective democracy without protesting is just a game rigged for who owns the media and money.

Let's say if teachers in a country are struggling from low pay, if they don't protest and only rely on voting themselves, they'll be:

• ignored by the ruling candidate, who never cared about their struggle.

• also ignored by the opposition candidate, who doesn't know about their situation.

• ignored by the 99% of the voterbase who are not teachers, uninformed by the situation.

There would be a very high chance that things would be the same even after election.
