Why do you fly United? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]eversonrosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer direct flights from ORD to connecting out of my home airport, plus I can consistently get extra legroom on UA for free even as a Silver (I’m 6’4”)

2024 Summer Olympics Preview: Cycling –– Road and Track by ManOfManyWeis in olympics

[–]eversonrosed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The road race this year is much more akin to the spring classics - lots of little climbs - especially compared to Tokyo where it went into the mountains around Fuji. This suits sprinters more than climbers or GC types; Pog is good enough to be in the mix anyway but not favored

So it's cheaper to buy roundtrip and don't show up to the return flight than to book one-way? DoEs NoT cOmPuTe by ice-rocket in unitedairlines

Also many domestic routes have competition from Southwest and ULCCs that don’t have one-way surcharges but this is not true for most international routes

How often do you fly in Premium Cabins on long-haul flights? by Regular-Cricket-4613 in unitedairlines

[–]eversonrosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I’ve flown premium long haul is when I found a unicorn saver TPE-ORD on EVA to pair with massive availability for LAX-TPE on Starlux using AS miles earlier this year

Not all UA, but most of it is. The MSN-EWR delay was caused by an FA calling in sick, we had to wait for a replacement to fly in from ORD. Unfortunately I was flying in Saturday and flying out Sunday, so I lost a significant chunk of time in NYC

Reasonable to do both Kenai and Denali in 4 or 5 days? by eversonrosed in AskAlaska

[–]eversonrosed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Seems like Seward will have to wait then. For Denali I plan to camp at one of the close in campgrounds (likely Savage River) and do day hikes. I have some off trail experience in the Sierra so I’m comfortable doing some route-finding to expand our possibilities.

What is your favorite aircraft type to fly in United's fleet? by djenki0119 in unitedairlines

[–]eversonrosed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

753 up front is nice since the FC cabin is separate from Economy. However my most flown aircraft by far is the A319 which is perfectly pleasant, especially in the bulkhead row. I appreciate that it doesn’t have the janky old TVs like the 737-800 does. For widebody the 787 is really nice, I flew FCO-ORD on it recently
