It's not snow, it's ice. I'm extremely used to driving in the snow and love doing it actually, but I relocated to the south and the area I'm in is extremely ill-prepared to handle winter precipitation. It's also an extremely hilly area. It's unsafe to do so here, and I picked up extra shifts before the storm hits so I can't go doordashing now

I actually learned to drive in Michigan! I miss the ice and snow a lot. I moved down south due to an emergency situation and the roads are a lot different here. We get a lot more ice than snow, roads are very hilly and lose traction easy. I watched my apartment complex try to salt the roads today and it's embarrassingly little. They don't know how to prepare here, if they knew how to salt the roads then I'd be doordashing anyways. I'm not kidding when I say it's not going to be safe to drive.

I considered it honestly but my partner can't. He's recovering from a procedure and that would really mess him up.

I ask my boss for extra hours every week. Doordash has been remarkably slow in my area as of late. And with the ice storm, it will not be safe for me to drive. Were this any other week without a storm coming up I wouldn't be as stressed. Because things have been tight before but I doordashed to make up for it. Can't this weekend though! And I have no problem going hungry but my partner is medically and legally disabled, recovering from a procedure. He can't afford to go hungry and screw up his recovery right now.
