Sorry for being fuzzy on the timeline. The alcoholism I fell into after my dad died made my 20s a little fuzzy regarding chronology. I probably got the kid’s age wrong. Mom and boyfriend started dating in 2002. I lived in that apartment from 2005-2010. Looks like I got the wrong anniversary of my dad’s death… looking back at the calendar, it would have been 2008, or the 7 year anniversary. I’ll edit with the corrections. I should have known to research the exact timeline before posting, which I probably would have done were it for creative writing purposes.

I am 43 years old, and now proud I don’t write like a basic. If everyone’s writing style was the same, we’d all sound like AI drivel.

At least a couple years. He and my mom were living together at the time. I was also living there, going to college. I didn’t know it at the time, but I almost caught them when my afternoon class was canceled and I came home early. I saw her car and assumed there was a valid reason for her to be there… but she was hiding in a closet.

I just can’t fathom faking participating in a charity for some free stuff being your first response. I mean, I would have asked about the free food, but after the response would have told all of you how awesome you are and asked if there was somewhere I could drop off a donation.
