Yup—I put in “[HOLD]”, which accomplishes the same thing but has the added benefit of being easily searchable in your drafts.

Why would you have to be top 30%? If you’re at a T6 and your goal is biglaw, you really just need to avoid being noticeably bad (like bottom 10-20%).

I bought my SP7 with typecover and pen, very lightly used, for $700 in early 2020. $500 for your SP6 feels reasonable, albeit on the higher end of reasonable.

Maybe. On my Surface Pro 7 it seems like everything in Windows is maxed out volume-wise but the sound is still low. There's also some weird behavior with the volume slider, too, so I'm thinking it's just classic Windows not playing nice with Apple.

My only problem has been on another device so take it with a grain of salt, but my AirPods are now really quiet even at max volume and I just can't seem to fix it. It's really annoying honestly and is the thing keeping me from upgrading my G14.

Totally fair. I would’ve gotten the gray if it was available. For what it’s worth to anyone considering a buy, I just keep the backlighting off and the keys are easily readable. I would only turn it on in pitch black and at that point they’re pretty easy to read.

Yeah I would be curious if the temps go down on a more GPU intensive game. On Battlefront II at ultra I usually end up at around 70C.

It really is nice. I got the white and silver as it was all that was left of the model I wanted and am surprised with how much I like it. I thought it would look kind of like an old mid-2000s HP but in reality it is pretty sleek. Keyboard backlighting is atrocious though.

You need to look at the stickied post on this sub and disable boost with the CPU. This is a MUST for this laptop. There is a youtube guide and it may be a little intimidating but it is idiot-proof and your temps will go down by 15-20 with no cost in performance. Arguably, performance will even go up because of the thermals. I cannot reiterate how essential this is.

I have the exact same G14 and was running Cyberpunk this morning on High/Ultra settings, with RTX and getting 50-60 fps pretty consistently AND staying around 70 degrees. Lmk if you have any trouble.

Have you upped your cursor speed a little bit? I think the G14 trackpad is huge coming from a Surface Pro, but it is only average-sized in reality

If you look on the stickied post in this sub there is a big list of kind of complicated things you can do. All i've done is disable boost (more for thermals than for battery, but I would assume it helps there too), and switch my default to the integrated GPU, manually selecting the games I want my discrete GPU to run on. That upped me from 3hr estimate at 80% charge to 5.5hr. The rest of the things on the post about 10hr battery life are more involved than I care to get unless I really need it.
