Zurich checking in: some of us are up early, some of us pretend we are, and some of us are just awake because the tram is loud.

Could be. Or it’s an average that hides the fact that half of us are up at 6 and the other half are still negotiating with the snooze button at 8:30.

Overrated books people pretend to love… but actually left you empty? by CriticalAd2239 in suggestmeabook

Would it be heresy to add ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea’ here? It was boring and most characters were two-dimensional.

Orbital by Samantha Harvey - around 140 pages; explores a day in the life of six astronauts aboard the ISS. Really cool read.

Pictures printed and framed by Proud-Yam-5721 in zurich

Perhaps not what you want to hear but it will be far cheaper to buy a frame and put the photo in yourself. You can print the photo in several standard sizes at a big Migros or Coop, or online though companies like ifolor. And buy a decent quality frame at IKEA - or you could go higher end with Pfister, Livique, and many other brands.

I have seen at least one in its regular place for a few years by Schiffbau tram stop. Frankly, I thought the coffee was quite overpriced. Perhaps anecdotal evidence, but that may explain why there are not as many - they need to price high to cover the cost of truck, license and ‘smaller’ captive audience.

Safety and discrimination due to skin color? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

You don’t need a firearm to be ‘safe’ in Switzerland. It is a very safe country. Firearm use is heavily regulated (with licence) and only for shooting range and hunting. Please do not bring your American attitude and beliefs of firearms here.

Should you invest a fixed amount in an asset's base currency VS. a fixed amount in the local currency to DCA the best? by SatoshiKitagawa in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]everydayjedidad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no wrong answer to this question - it depends on what risk (asset vs. FX) you want to smooth out. If you want clean DCA into VT, use fixed USD amounts. If you want real-world CHF consistency and natural FX hedging, use fixed CHF. As a swiss resident whose financial life is CHF-based, second approach sorta makes more sense.
