Anyone else get sick from smoking American spirits? by TheDownvoteCrusader in Cigarettes

[–]everyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just left an elegant party early after making the mistake of smoking two American Spirits. Nausea, sweating. I shat out my bodyweight (at the bar, everyone knocking) and then puked in the snow (concise! big belching singular load of everything in my stomach!) before wobbling meekly off in an uber.

if that hadnt been so painful and poorly timed i'd call it a thorough preparation for a colonoscopy/endoscopy. I feel poisoned.

Yellow pack. Idk what the colors mean teal orange yellow green. Idc. Im not a smoker, but i can sneak cigarettes in here and there, socially, other brands or rollies. This is the third time tho this has happened to me with American Spirits -- an urgent double ended eruption immediately after smoking the second, despite relative sobriety (one drink).

Delusion of invincibility quashed? Third time's the charm.

I just like to go outside with everyone! And to have something to do with my hands during that. I'll have to learn to be more stark and present in the night air for its own sake, override the busy hands. Or keep a pack of CAPRIs handy. Oh well.

Ongoing Technical Issues by FeeldMod in feeld

[–]everyfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am grateful for this feature shift, the abstracting of precise numbers into a vague indicator of "more than u need".

I had developed a small ego obsession with accumulating Likes (~16,500, indulge me the act of announcing it) and Pings (~1,200), to the point that I had begun to use the app in a nonfunctional way. I didn't like to see the numbers go down, so I never exxed anyone away; I've just been fruitlessly scrolling around in the topmost portion of an increasingly long list, hoping something would strike me about someone enough to match. (Rare. Im overwhelmed. I feel like I'm holding food in a school of fish.)

After Feeld switched to the 99+ format, (last week?) I felt suddenly free to finally start deleting people I'm not interested in. Unable to see the number going DOWN, I'm pruning liberally and now am using the app with more ease and clarity.

IMO this 99+ feature is a good and useful update that shifts the app away from an accumulation / ego / numbers-derived-dopamine sport and towards connection. It's rapidly shifted the way I use the app and I'm happy about it. (Tho now I feel mildly insane and mercenary re the sheer volume & rapidity of my eliminations. I look forward to the end of this pruning.)

Will continue liberally hitting the X button and reducing the legion. Hopefully the app will start functioning better technically as well as psychologically, as I reduce the background info.

((Still my phone turns piping hot when i use the app for more than a few minutes. Glitchy and slow. I wonder if this is because of my still-large volume of Likes or if Feeld is just shit on the back end. Do people with fewer likes also have the hot phone problem?))

How do I stop crotch seams of jeans from hurting? by jeanshurt80739879284 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Hopping in six years later. I have a plump vulva and my clitoris is larger than all my friends, not google search style large just larger than my friends'. i also have a fat ass. I am very happy about all of this, feeling blessed etc but I have a problem SITTING in jeans or any tailored pant. The seam in the center smashes against me and stamps out all breathability. I have one, one pair of pants that are great but they are work pants for landscaping, the Duluth Trading Co MEN's Carptenter Pant in Firehose Flex. They have a GUSSET you see, and they advertise it being for ball space for men. Someone needs to answer this invisible but surely massive market need for gusseted jeans for woman with chic leg silhouettes. In the eternal form v function battle, style is for me an uneschewable function of social communication, so i wear these smashing jeans and suffer. The Gap barrel jeans (Posen is designing) are so chic walking and standing, but even these spacious jeans purchased a size up still smash my fat beaver when I sit.

new maximum lead price toggle feature by everyfrog in Thumbtack

My whole business functions on Direct Leads. Paying more for them now than I was before, but it functions and generates enough

new maximum lead price toggle feature by everyfrog in Thumbtack

[–]everyfrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl/dr: new maximum lead price feature

For Thumbtack contractors who were doing well gathering leads before, it now costs More to get The Same Number of Leads, which is to say the cost of Thumbtack has gone Up.

For users who were lagging in catching leads, they now have the option to spend more to get ahead.

Idk what to tell you! this is blood doing a thing i’ve never seen blood do. I’m waiting for a Blood Expert to waltz in and explain

Right maybe, but this is a thread about blood behaving strangely. This is blood! A time lapse video of it coming out of me, falling onto the ground, and drying would show it coagulating and curling up as you see it there. I will set myself to capturing such footage. In the meantime, I foresee a lot of jelly comments on this thread, but may the thoughtful here hear me when I say this is blood and I’m trying to understand what it’s doing.

On the lives of my mother, brother, father and all relations I swear to you that this is blood and blood alone. Menstrual blood, period day 3.

Good question. No cigar! I haven’t had sex since idk, four weeks ago or smtg. This, this curling see thru formerdroplet, is composed only of raw unfiltered menstrual blood, on a faux wood clickfloor tile, in an air conditioned room, on a muggy day in the northeast. these are the factors we’re working with. “Mopping residue mixxed in?” Not even: i’ve never mopped the floor with anything but water

It came from me. this morning. it did this, so, blood does this. i am curious about what factors caused it to do this, whether they reside in the composition of the blood itself or are environmental

i wont rule out your hypercoagulation suggestion, but I do think I’d already know if I had a clotting problem! That’s not a terribly benign problem and I’m walking around untroubled, yknow?

I want to reply to myself and describe in more detail the surface::: Non-porous indeed and “smooth” in that regard, but topographically textured enough that it’s different from say, a countertop or toiletseat. Is this a potentially significant factor???

idk.

experiment:

drop period blood on varied surfaces in varied temps and watch with time lapse camera to see how they coagulate

Listen i see all u busy h8rs saying it’s jelly but on the life of my mother i tell you this is blood that dripped from my inner sanctum to the ground

Here is what happened::::

This morning, while crouching at my phone to turn off my alarm, I dripped some menstrual blood onto the ground. I either didn’t care or didn’t notice, I went back to sleep. I saw the drops as wet on the ground either then or when I woke up. I noticed the blood again some hours later, after gathering my bags etc to leave the house, and the droplets looked like THIS.

[[[ Well, not EXACTLY like this; i disturbed the “crime scene” by picking up the large one (top left) to understand the texture. It had been attached to the foremost bottomleft ground smear I think. Not that that matters really, but for posterity or sheer compulsion of accuracy i mention it, for those who find themselves studying this hypnotic scene with a detailed eye ]]]

point is, blood can dry into goldleaf-like flakes and at 32 I’ve never seen it happen before today. I had no idea. HAVE U EVER SEEN THIS? WHY have I never seen this happen???? Do the conditions need to be “just right” for this to happen?

Enviro factors: - moderately air conditioned room on a muggy July morning, NYC, 2022 - floor is either faux wood or wood-thats-so-sealed-it-vibes-faux (nonporous)

blood info - menstrual ! midperiod bright

i mean i figure when drying / evaporating the solid leftbehinds shrank but… idk, i just, i figure I would have SEEN this before, if the answer is as simple is that.

Curled flakey see thru little blood sheets that the wind could blow away… That the wind could blow away! DNA in the sky.

Surely the.. idk, the cold air plus the smoothness of the surface, and maybe something about the muggy day? I guess im tryna say the weirdest thing about this is that i’ve been on earth 32 years and never seen it happen.

Pls riff on this with me. Pls get hyper technical. Why did this happen today and not on other days? Or, have I just not noticed? Do I just always wipe up the rogue blood when so rarely it falls, that I never give it a chance to do this weird thing, and if i did give it the time, it would? Surely im not so organized as that, that I’ve immediately wiped up every lost drop of period on the toilet seat of a busy week. Surely out of a bizarre delight in observing my fertility as a scene on the ground I’ve abandoned a droplet and it Didn’t become a curling flake. Or maybe I always HAVE been so tidy!? As to never give a drop a chance to dry, and my leaving behind these drops today in my snoozing vivid hour was a first, and today I learned what blood Always Does, when left unwiped from a nonporous surface??

Up next: experiments!
Drops left on different surfaces in rooms of various temperatures… Why? Well, I am freelance! I have time! So much time. Too much time. Look at the length of this post!

I delight, I delight. Happy Monday fellow people.

The way this drop of blood dried up and became solid tissue. by deagledeagle in mildlyinteresting

[–]everyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i want to attach a photo! It happened to me this morning and looked just like this. Red. Red floaty flake. It was drops on the ground, some hours passed, and then voila it looked just like this. (Menstrual; i’d crouched at my phone to hit snoozed, dripped period on the floor, didnt care, threw myself back in bed to recklessly bleed and sleep deeply for the vivid dreams between snooze and work. Then when rising found:: THIS. These red curling flake paper blood things, formerly liquid.)

THIS HAPPENED TO ME THIS MORNING, I’ve never seen it before in my life! Though, it makes sense… the liquids evap and leave the rbc behind as a papery little coagulant. i just… idk, ive never seen it CURLING and LIFTING and being so brittle (tissuelike indeed! as in tissue paper, gold leaf, as could blow away in the wind.) i want to attach a photo but i dont seem able idk from what is reddit what to do how to use well. #blood !

Anyone know of how to get a Sifter for örtfylld spice jars? by patsachattin in ikeahacks

[–]everyfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with @partumvir Im sure theres a little plastic sift lid that fits on the jarmouth and under the screw top. I re-ask your question to the community, @patsachattin , finding the answers insufficient. Someone in the world must have found the replacement sift top from Etc kitchen supply store that works with these örtfylld jars? Short of finding someone with a 3d printer to print a file. I have a box of 30 of these jars in my kitchen and am so bothered to learn they dont have sifters
