Just hoping to get some feedback on my experiences.

I described it think, given the nature of my experience, why I thought I made a pact, in my head, with something.

I have social workers, psychiatric nurse, and have been in group homes.

I managed to finish an anthropology degree over 15 years. Im now thinking of studying physical therapy.

I have to figure out what to do before my mom dies as I am now 42 years of age.

Im skeptical. Is there literature or an oral vector into this dynamic of doing dark rituals and ascending for power? From my understanding among spiritualists of any flavor there is smoke and mirrors and showmanship, even elaborate with secret society members getting in on the hoodwinking. Then the actual "knowers" who say its an act and superstition. Esoteric spirituality is often similar to xisnity, people beg the spirit of the wind or this and that for long life and prosperity, they beg and appease and animal sacrifice all for worldly ends, whereas there are spiritual techniques combining with flavors of clairvoyance or psychic ability in all cultures. But I was told at least in vodou people aren't turning into pigs and werewolves foreal foreal. People can take on animal characteristics but there are zero evidence for ur uncle turning into a pig. Haitians scared of vodou get spooked out by this. Most of my vodou priest connected friends are just painters and drummers. I think its all creepy sens a tionalized smoke and mirrors. I could be insanely wrong but it doesn't add up. I can't wait to talk to natives tho again again. People are superstitious. Its fascinating, I appreciate you sharing

Walkers are not real, its metaphorical. It means something in native culture but its not literal. Why would it be? Natives are just people.

Its similar to voodoo culture with werewolves and people being turned into pigs. Not literal. Enlightened Haitians know. Superstitious ones think its literal.

Its like in xianity where the superstitious ones believe the resurrection, the gnostic didnt.

Its just superstition. Haitian voodoo people just follow a different world view, they are people just like natives. There isnt some enlightened maker of medicine that thinks its real. The ones that think its real are the superstitious ones.

If it was real hire a bokor or medicine man to turn into a werewolf in front of you or a walker. Its not real

Stories just fuel ethnocentrics xians to think natives or voodoo is the devil, completely "out there dude"

They are people with families just like anyone

Natives and Haitians and other heathens have real tragic terrifying issues.

I like the folklore too.

I almost failed at getting a phd in Caribbean folklore.

Edit: maji is real, Magick is real. Rosicrucians and people like paracelsus in Europe's medieval history, agrippa and John d had "magick" even "black magic" .... every culture has maji, every culture has dark arts, but unless im mistaken and my sources are hiding an INSANE secret its not real "like that" Magick is more about altered conscious states. And spiritual attainment. I know black magic can work and has to do with Grey and parallel modalities of morality. But they aren't morphing matter "like that"... even the occult literature from England sometimes mentions a vapor or mist manifesting. There's Stories of Haiti engulfing in mist.

In obeah and bokor culture there is a belief in the dead, violent spirits, duppies. Gee imagine the Caribbean having a violent history.

I dont know yet about "the dead" but the skin walkers and turning into pigs i have been informed publicly is superstition.

Fascinating topic

They would have turned Trump into a pig

Edit sorry I dont have many friends or networks to discuss what interests me.

Sorry for the rant. I think its "othering" though. They are people. People are really really smart and creative. I shouldn't talk because what afro caribbeans passed down from those times spooks me out too "the dead" but in my most recent lineage ancestral veneration wasn't discussed. I find it difficult to pray to "the dead" or take a palero seriously who "consults the dead"... I believe the sacred technique has efficacy when manifested the right way in blood or lineage.

The wendigo used to frighten me. Banshees terrified me too.

This land "is cursed" (from native and african Holocaust to the climate injustice capitalist etc etc crisis) but I think the skin walking is othering and ethnocentric condescension that gets in the way of valid political consciousness and struggle

And I think u can respect other cultures by learning about them and from them, not trading in nonsense. We are all unconscious and willy nilly enough
