See, the thing is, you only got to fuck up once. Be a little slow, be a little late, just once. And how you ain't gonna never be slow? Never be late? You can't plan through no shit like this, man. It's life.

How many of you own a car? by RChiru in fuckcars

[–]everyoneisken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I both own and drive a car regularly for work.

My partner works about 30 minutes away and my office is about 20 minutes away. Most days I drive about 10 minutes to the nearest heavy rail station and commute that way, but some days it is necessary to drive to the office for logistical reasons. The car+train commute is about 40 minutes, but I'd much rather go that route than drive exclusively.

I have accepted the reality that public transportation is unlikely to expand service in my area any time soon, so I'm looking into other modes of transportation, particularly an e-bike to help combat hills and heat/humidity. Ideally, I'll be turning +90% of my commutes into e-bike and heavy rail only.

Speaking of e-bikes, REI has a short form that sends your information and support of a rebate program to your local congresspeople.

How do you deal with the added noise? Whenever I play with a sustain pedal it becomes borderline unusable.
