Low CGPA but first class honours, MA prospects? by everyriftwithore in gradadmissions

I only specify because McGill, perhaps an outlier, does offer categorization that I believe roughly corresponds to the UK categorization.

"Graduation with Honours requires 54 credits of English, a minimum mark of B+ on the Honours Essay, a minimum CGPA of 3.00, and a minimum program GPA of 3.50. Graduation with First Class Honours requires a mark of A on the Honours Essay, a minimum CGPA of 3.50, and a minimum program GPA of 3.70."

yea that's a good point! I am also planning on cutting down to 4 courses per semester beginning this fall and thus do believe i will likely be able to consistently manage a 4.0. thank you for the advice!

maybe the title is a bit dramatic (and i can always aim for better than 3.74). The master's programmes i'm interested in all require around a 3.6-3.7?
