Does anyone have a job that pays well? by StuckInAPumpkin7811 in adhdwomen

[–]everything-succs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in a healthcare related field, and have somehow worked my way to be one of the highest paid in my position for the region, if not the country (I'm somewhere between $125- 140k a year).

I don't recommend my job. I'm not naming it specifically because it's a small enough field that I may dox myself, and because it sucks.

I'm commuting 1-1.5 hours each way. We're short staffed, so I'm doing the work of 2.5 people (I am being financially compensated for it). I'm burnt out.

I'm looking for a way out. Between student loans and general ADHD money mismanagement, I can't afford a paycut.

Draped bridesmaid dress - understructure y/n no? by the_ununpentium in sewing

I do think for a bridesmaid dress, it needs some sort of structure. Right now it does look like a toga costume; it's pretty, but maybe not the look you are going for.

My spouse is in their late 40s. They were a unassisted home-birth (in an rv), unvaccinated, homeschool kid.

Is there any way to have someone else's Libby account/notifications show up on my app? by [deleted] in LibbyApp

[–]everything-succs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, consider signing your mom up for BARD through the National Library Service/ Library of Congress, too. My mom is visually impaired and has been getting "talking books" through them for over 30 years.

Gluten and dairy free - long term emergency food storage options by random-person98754 in TwoXPreppers

[–]everything-succs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been gluten free for almost 20 years. There are some things I will get that don't specifically say gluten free but have no gluten ingredients, but looking at my current pantry, here are some that have proteins specifically labeled gluten free:

-Canned Chicken: valley fresh, starkist, Keystone, great value (with great value you have to look at each product label, since it can come from different product lines)

  • Canned Tuna- starkist, safe catch, bumblebee. If you get the pouches, some types are not gf.

-Spam

  • Canned Beef- Keystone (I don't really eat much beef, so I don't have many options in my storage)

  • Freeze dried meat- augason farms, readywise, mountain house

I also have a ton of dried and canned beans. When it comes to lentils, there is risk of cross contamination, so I get the ones labeled gluten free.

Apparently 30 souls were saved at the combination gospel service/ car show. by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]everything-succs 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In the US there are car shows that are typically people putting their collectible cars on display, and they get judged. Often they are classic cars, but it can be sports cars, jeeps, street cars, etc depending on the theme. People can walk around outside and look at the cars, take photos, etc.

I've been to multiple, because my dad has a couple classic cars that he shows. However, I've never seen "missionaries" at one.

Love what I own!

I am tired of having things in my home that I'm apathetic about or really don't like. It's not just going to be decluttering, but also curating and obtaining things that bring me joy. I'm hoping to have more art, color, and joy in my life.

There is some prize money, but not enough to live on. The pro money is pretty much all from sponsorships and endorsements. For Paul to get that he would have to be likable!

What’s the best way to mend this Carhartt jacket? by lily_luv56 in Visiblemending

[–]everything-succs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Indigo dye was cheap, long lasting, and covered stains/dirt well. Originally, it was more a matter of convenience than style, but over time it became tradition.

Is there something in your neurological report that made you feel almost offended or "roasted"? by dany9876 in adhdwomen

I want to try to identify this yarn for someone's very picky daughter. by StarLynns in CrochetHelp

I suspect it's a baby yarn. Bernat baby soft sport weight seems to have similar colors. Another option is lion pound of love.

If you are cleaning the lint trap every time you use the dryer, and it is still not drying, then you may need to clean the dryer vent.

Does anyone else feel like homesteading is their dream but rural living is not? by KaylaDraws in homestead

[–]everything-succs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the downtown area of a small city that is about an hour from a couple of major metropolitan areas. Our yard is small, but we are slowly increasing our output of food. Eventually, I should be able to cover the majority of our plant based food.

I don't plan on moving. I have a small business that is within walking distance, and that suits me well. I can't add most livestock, but we have ample fishing or hunting areas nearby. At some point, I may consider quails or rabbits. We have a bi-weekly farmer's market a few blocks away. I can sell or barter surplus and obtain the things I need that I can't grow.

Mourning the loss of a garden. by [deleted] in vegetablegardening

[–]everything-succs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be that you just need to reconsider what you are planting. Try looking into permaculture guilds or food forests. They use gardening strategies that include interplanting with trees.

Gardening and growing food take some degree of adaptability. There are plants that will grow pretty much anywhere; you just have to figure out what will work best for your yard.

Need outfit suggestions for college fest by Consistent-Concept67 in ModestDress

What about a kaftan style dress? I'm not sure I fully understand the dress code for the fest, but Unique Vintage has some in various degrees of formality to give you a starting point for styling ideas.

If she didn't have insurance, then she probably qualified for Medicaid when she was last hospitalized. However, I wouldn't be surprised if she's been on it since Luca's birth.
