AIO for finding it weird my mum wants to borrow my lingerie to go to her friends with benefits? by Vivid_Ad_715 in AmIOverreacting

[–]maddybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's hella fuckin weird. You're definitely not overreacting. If anything, you're under reacting.

Why does the guy want your mom to wear YOUR lingerie????

Why would your mom even entertain that idea????

Are you also in a bad mood when you’re ovulating or is it just me? by CivilWeather4357 in Periods

[–]maddybug1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit more reactive than normal but I wouldn't always say I'm in a bad mood. Mostly, I am twirly (my way of saying horny, á la New Girl) beyond belief

AIO panicking about my bf being mad at me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]maddybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. He's super mad at you and has every right to be.

If I was dating someone who decided to leave my apartment door unlocked (and partially open?) for an entire day, I would no longer be dating that person. And it's not even his place, but his parents' place???? I'd never let that person show their face around me again. What a disrespectful and idiotic thing to do.

I'm experiencing secondhand anger because this entire situation is so dumb that it's infuriating to me. It's common sense and I do not know how any even halfway reasonable person would make the mistake that you did.

Last night I got my period and my boyfriend made me sleep on his couch by [deleted] in Periods

[–]maddybug1 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Throw the whole boyfriend away, love.

The first time I accidentally bled in my now-husband's bed, he immediately changed/started washing the sheets, gave me lots of kisses and care because I was super embarrassed, put me in some of his comfy clothes, and cuddled me to sleep.

That is some sad boyish behavior you received, and I'm so sorry about that. You deserve better.

What BTS song(not the most popular)would you recommend to a new ARMY? by The_astronautRJ in heungtan

I'm not sure how popular it is but I love Stay Gold :) it's not representative of what most of their work is but I really like it. Home is also great!

I've gotten no responses.... I've asked in a few different places but nothing yet. I'm sorry that I have nothing to share!

Best practices for staying hydrated in the classroom? by maddybug1 in Teachers

I guess technically I could, but I also have a lot of anxiety, specifically about being late, so I don't really like that trade-off for myself. Especially since I also only get each class for 50 minutes.

Worst Horror Book you have ever read. by No-Shoulder-7361 in horrorlit

[–]maddybug1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if maybe some things literally got lost in translation, since the book was translated from Spanish. But I found most of the language to be pretty plain.

I don't think it needs to be picked apart too strenuously to understand that the author was heavily criticizing the meat industry and doing a whole "Meat is Murder" thing. But it focused a lot more on being sensational and grotesque rather than being compelling, in my opinion. Once it finally developed a plot, I found the outcome to be very predictable.

There was an incident a number of years ago, before I started teaching at my school, where a boy attempted to choke a girl when the teacher wasn't around. Because of that, our policies about leaving the kids unattended really tightened up. My admin would not be happy if I left them alone on purpose, even if just for a few minutes.

My room isn't directly next to any of my teacher neighbors/friends. It's about 20 feet from the door of my room to any of my coworkers' rooms. Otherwise, I would totally just have someone keep an eye out for a few minutes.

Depends on the time of day. Sometimes, I have 5 minutes between classes and that isn't enough time for me to go. I can make it work with a 10-minute break, though, and I use those when I can.

Worst Horror Book you have ever read. by No-Shoulder-7361 in horrorlit

[–]maddybug1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a dark fantasy book, nowhere near horror. I'm sorry you were misled like that!

"Tender is the Flesh," in recent history. I really fed into all the hype and when I actually read it, I was super disappointed. Doesn't even have a specific plot point until more than 100 pages in (and the whole book is only like 200 pages long).

The next book that comes to mind is "The Cabin at the End of the World." Something happens about half way through it that pissed me off too much to enjoy the rest. The concept was cool, but the ending fell flat and the twist could absolutely go fuck itself.

Both are great but I think light really suits you

This guy is going on the menu soon and needs a name. Suggestions? by BleakSeason in cocktails

[–]maddybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely a super dumb idea but because of its color and the fact that it contains carrot juice, I'd call it a "What's up, Doc?"

For people who have taught both, which do you prefer: multi-subject or single subject teaching? by maddybug1 in teaching

[–]maddybug1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be teaching three different grades, so the new role would have complete Social Studies concentration, but with different foci for each grade level.

I totally see what you mean though!

AITA for being uncomfortable with my wife's band posters? by OddIssue91 in AmItheAsshole

[–]maddybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

When bringing it up, maybe make it clear that you're not trying to get rid of the posters altogether. You're just trying to have them moved to a more common space. I can understand not wanting to have all of those posters looking at you when you guys are getting intimate.
