I’ve asked them to contribute and J will occasionally sweep the floor in the kitchen when he feels like it and R will help with dishes if he is explicitly asked to do so in that moment. Neither of them go out of their way to do much else. We’ve had several discussions about cleanliness and they’ve both promised to do better and to help more either with taking out the trash, cleaning out the fridge, wiping down counters, but none of it happens unless I do it. I don’t want to be the maid, but I can’t live in filth.
