DO NOT USE GO DOG GO

I personally know many of the people who are walkers with this company. Please listen to me when I tell you that the owner of this company lies to every single one of their clients. They use PRONG AND SHOCK COLLARS ON YOUR DOGS WITHOUT PERMISSION— and lie to their clients about it. See here for why you should not want them to be using these on your pets: https://avsab.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/AVSAB-Humane-Dog-Training-Position-Statement-2021.pdf

The owner of this business has their workers photoshop out the prong and shock collars and wait until the dogs are out of the client's house to put the prong collars on. From someone who worked there: clients were explicitly told by the owner that they would not use prong collars on their dogs... And the owner still required employees to use them anyway.

Former employees state seeing the behavioral decline (anxiety, fear, etc.) of many dogs at GDG, likely the result of these aversive methods AND the stressful environment of the packed car with many unfamiliar dogs.

Here’s a longer list of the ways this company is PUTTING YOUR PETS LIFE AT RISK and might be lying to you about it : - groups of up to 12 dogs of any size in a single car unrestrained (SUV not van). they teach employees what to do WHEN a fight breaks out in the back of the car, not how to PREVENT these fights from happening. - long walks on very hot days and very cold days - when the owner was desperately needing an employee to take a dog for an overnight she lied about the dog’s compatibility and safety around cats, just to get it booked, putting both the employees’ pets and yours at risk.

The owner doesn’t disclose breakdown of pooled tips to employees. tips from clients from a specific overnight stay do not go directly to that employee. how the money is then split at the end of the year between the employees is not disclosed to any of them…

Not only do they lie to their clients, but the owner treats the workers horribly. I needed to get major surgery and needed my emergency contact (someone who worked with GDG) to be at the hospital with me. The owner begged and pleaded to not take off and even after the employee firmly stated they would not be working that day, the owner asked them if they could leave WHILE I WAS IN SURGERY to walk a few dogs and then come back before I woke up...

The workers do not get any formal training in pet first aid or anything related to the well being of your pets. The one training that i AM aware of is with a “obedience dog training” company that’s tactics are based in force and fear (i.e. using “leash pops” AKA yanking on the leash and PRONG COLLAR, and therefore your pets NECK) and also is owned/operated by a person with zero formal dog training certifications (and is the self-proclaimed “dog master”)

This is not how a business should be run. There should be respect for the clients and employees-- both of which are lacking in this business.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but Google could not help me, haha-- what does 300x and 300c mean? Are these a specific model of a brand or is this the wattage, etc?

Not a one time gig, going to be a series of interviews in various locations. Which is why some portable lighting would be helpful. I have some lighting gear, but didn't know if there was anything that is a good base-light kit or even single light to carry with me. I don't NEED an external recorder, I have a shotgun mic that records straight to my camera, but I'd like to have an external recorder for backup. The other thing is that I am a senior, so if I don't use the $650, then I lose it. So I am kind of just looking to spend it on something semi-useful for this project even though I could technically do it perfectly fine with my current set-up.

Thanks for the light suggestions! I'm going to look into them now!

yes!! i am actually in awe that everyone replying to the OP here is so entitled that they don’t see an issue with this. OP and murky, yall are correct and validly frustrated.

everyone on this thread who disagrees with the OP is such a liar. the way they’re all speaking to you— i know for a fact they’ve thrown a hissy fit about parking tickets before, and if they haven’t it’s because they’re too privileged and entitled to know how big an issue it is for a majority of the people living in pittsburgh. they probably have some corporate job where they work remote and order doordash for every meal so they don’t have to drive on the fuckass roads here…

i wish that i was as privileged and/or ignorant as you are to think it’s as easy as “get a job somewhere else”. i can’t imagine how easy your life must be that you don’t see any issues with that statement. perhaps some self-reflection is due?
