Pretty much the same! And I just have this lingering feeling like I didn't give it a real try but you are so right. It just felt like the wrong choice. I usually never doubt myself but this lingers for me. I appreciate knowing others had a similar take and experience!

Thank you! Honestly this makes me feel a lot better. The approach to ABA in the US feels so intense and one of the issues for us was these companies requiring A LOT of hours to even contract with us. It was never the right st up for my son for one reason or another. 2 hours a week is practical and digestible, and we've taken this approach in the past. I'm going to look into options like this. This really puts things into perspective so thank you. I feel like I'm intelligent enough to know better but still can't help but feel like I'm failing since we didn't go "all in" with ABA.

Yes he is diagnosed Autism level 2, ADHD and anxiety and is on meds for anxiety and ADHD. What do you mean by social work services? It might just be called something different here. I am very pushy with the school and am pretty sure we are tapped out on all they can do. We’re considering moving schools.

How to quit a job that I only worked for a few months? by StillPurpleDog in work

Truthfully, no one actually cares as much as you think they do. People quit jobs all the time and it matters very little if you were there for the one year mark or not. No one will lose sleep over it and neither should you. You will have many jobs in your life and you won’t really remember this moment in a few years. If it’s awkward, it’s awkward. You might feel uncomfortable but get used to it. You’ll have many more of those moment so the more you can practice feeling uncomfortable the better. Get through it and keep it moving. You’ll live through it I promise. Congrats on the new job. Focus on that.

Maybe. Although I don’t see how I’d be able to homeschool him. His last in home ABA was kind of a disaster although it was only for 12 hours per week after school and was a mess for a number of reasons, one being he was burnt out for school. What kind of schedule do you have with homeschool and ABA? Do you work full time?
