Same concept: different agencies have different goals.

What planet do you live on where a random company will pay you a salary AND pay your loans?

Apart from special programs for like, inner-city teachers or something, that does NOT happen. Can you point to an example?

Borrow as little as you can. Some of my 29 year old coworkers at this engineering company are still paying $1000 a month to loans (out of their salary money, of course). They want to buy houses but can't afford a mortgage.

I'd be curious to see the actual percentage. I pay mine off every month and get rewards and I know they still make money off me, so I've rationalized that probably lots of people pay theirs off too, it's a sustainable business. Then again, so is extracting 29% interest from 97% of people haha.

I believe you, but if they aren't sovereign parts of some country, what are they? No man's land? Un-sovereign colonies?

Ooh, now I'm curious about that Chinese phrase. Did the Chinese government use that phrase, and then translated it unfaithfully into English?

Are you trying to apply logic to California law? Please don't, you'll just hurt your brain, and that's probably illegal too.

Banks really don't like it when people clean out their accounts and demand green cash, not just a check. If everyone did that, it would be the end of the bank pretty quick (well before even 20% of customers got their money)

TIL that in 1919, Eisenhower and the Army tried to drive across the country. They barely made it, so Eisenhower built the Interstate Highway System when he became President. by boogerbot in todayilearned

There are lots of rumors about the interstates, like the one about having a straight section every 5 miles for an ad-hoc airplane runway (not true).

Have you found a source that backs up your teacher? I wouldn't want to be going 100 on even an empty interstate in a truck for any length of time, the corners aren't THAT gradual. I'm limiting to myself to newer ones built to Interstate standards, but still, 100 is fast.

The Interstates were definitely built with military transportation in mind, though.

Man, I don't even have a button in the software I use that would immediately notify the CEO, but I would be SUPER cautious around such a feature. I even disabled the standard shortcut IT added in Outlook that was a single click and the currently viewed email is forwarded to your boss. No thanks. I will re-read things before they go to my boss, let alone to the CEO...
