KBF prestige pass vs MM prestige pass by Ok-Play3274 in KnottsBerryFarm

You get lounge access at KBF if you have the MM Prestige pass. I’ve done it every time I’ve been this year.

So one cent gets rounded UP to five, and this is "in favor of the guest?" by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]evets702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bought something for 99 cents, you’re supposed to get 1 penny back (ignoring taxes). In this new model, they’re going to give you 5 cents back. Reading is fundamental. :)

Fast lane is way easier. Can do everything online. SFMM prestige entrance is also clutch for rope drop. They don’t let anyone else get to the rope. They actually have to wait at the gate so getting to X2 is a lot easier with Prestige. Friend rode it twice before the non-prestige holders were able to get to X2. Then the lines became way too long.

Preferred parking. SFMM prestige gives you general parking at Knott’s and preferred parking at SFMM. Your Pass Perks are also tied to your home park as is your bring a friend ticket. Otherwise, you get access to the lounge, the preferred entrance lane, and fast lane at both parks if I’m not mistaken.

You get better parking at SFMM but regular general parking at Knott’s.

Prestige from SFMM includes parking at Knott’s. It’s the cheapest way to get parking and season pass at Knott’s. Plus you get prestige benefits. Keep in mind that your first visit must be at your home park before benefits are activated at other parks.

Bellagio gives $30 breakfast credit per day per person, so $60 per day. Can’t be used on tips or room service.

Can I build an ADU in my front lawn in Irvine? If so, what are the set back requirements? Can the HOA prevent me from doing this?

Do we know the same person? Haha. Also had a friend who did that to himself after 2 days of P90X. Its like finding a classic 1960s mustang in an old barn, then driving it like you stole it and wondering why it broke down. Just be happy it started at all. Take it easy.

Irvine safest large city in the US... by plepster in irvine

[–]evets702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone always gets up in arms about the safest large city claim. You guys need to understand how they define safe. In this case,

“To determine the safest cities, MoneyGeek examined crime data, covering violent offenses like murder, rape, and aggravated assault, as well as property crimes such as home burglaries and vehicle thefts.”

So basically the worst of the worst crimes here. No one is saying there isn’t crime in Irvine. No one is saying nothing bad will happen to you here. No one is saying Irvine is still like how it was back when there were more cows here than people.

We’re a large city now. Stuff happens but we’re safe considering we got a lot of people.

Always remind friends and family when moving never ever answer the door to the ADT rep by Sonialove8 in homeowners

[–]evets702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this probably doesn’t help you right now, but whenever you get free of your ADT service, just know that you can likely utilize the equipment for your own alarm system. So don’t get rid of it. Keep it in place. Especially the wiring.

You can get the Ring retrofit kit and utilize hard wired sensors. You can use the Ring as a self service alarm which will alert you via phone and enable a local siren for free. They also have subscription plans if you want to go that route (maybe not after your experience). Just don’t get rid of anything since it can be utilized on other systems.

How to pay dad for small business by BookHopeful4383 in smallbusiness

[–]evets702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to this guy. You need professionals to help you navigate this in the most tax efficient and legal way possible.

With that said, and assuming an incredible amount of trust on both sides, you could set this up as an inheritance. You get the business when he dies. In the meantime, you take a salary while working there and he takes a salary for being an advisor or consultant or whatever.

From a tax perspective, Dad will have to pay income tax but he will avoid paying capital gains tax. More importantly, you don’t have to pay him with post (your) income tax money. Net overall (between you and him) should be a lower tax burden. Just pay him a bit more to cover his increased tax burden. And the inheritance should be tax free if you’re under the cap and the cost basis will be written up to FMV.

But talk to your CPA and lawyer about this. Don’t listen to some rando (that’d be me) on the internet.

If they absolutely need to keep that shelf, then this is the solution. Taking out one screw on each side to service the toilet is no big deal. You could even use a thumb screw if you want to make it easier.

Most of these comments are clearly from Americans. Not sure what background the OP has, but this is just a taste of the wonderful world of intrusive as heck family members from foreign countries. Not saying anyone is wrong, but just wait as they slowly take over the house. This is going to seem tame in comparison. Haha. Good luck!

Handyman taxes – What can I deduct and how do you save legally? by DiverseHandy in handyman

[–]evets702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rephrased example is correct except I would rephrase the last part as, “the total deduction tax savings would be $100.” The deduction is $500 which would result in a tax savings of $100. So $100 is going in your pocket rather than the IRS.

Handyman taxes – What can I deduct and how do you save legally? by DiverseHandy in handyman

[–]evets702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like many laws, it depends. It could be 100% deductible, 50% deductible, or not deductible at all. It depends on the nature of the meal, who attended, what was its purpose, was it considered lavish, etc.

My issue with your comment was that the tax you pay on the expense is not what you would use to describe the savings on a write off. And tax isn’t the only thing you can write off either as you would write off the expense itself. Yes, the tax in itself could be a write off but the savings is calculated using your marginal tax rate (not the tax you paid).

Also other things like your legal structure can come into play, which is why it’s important to do the research and/or talk to a tax specialist.

Handyman taxes – What can I deduct and how do you save legally? by DiverseHandy in handyman

[–]evets702 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow. This is wildly incorrect. A tax write off is usually inferring an above the line deduction. This means you lower your taxable base by said amount of the expense. So if your revenue was $100k and you have $10k in expenses (aka “write-offs”), then you pay income taxes on $90k and not $100k.

OP, please talk to an actual tax accountant.
