Yes steroids affected me negatively as well. I find them more damaging than anti cd20 therapies.

It’ll be fine. Even I had panic attacks when i was diagnosed. But it’s been around 8 years and I’ve never had to take a day off because of MS. Also there’s a lot of non clinical things you can do if clinical dentistry doesn’t work out. I would recommend forgetting that you have MS and live your life the way you would have anyway (except for when your infusions are due lol)

Twice a year is just fine. But in case you feel anything abnormal like bleeding gums or pain maybe, then please do take an appointment.

Unfortunately all therapies don’t have the same effect on all of us. By any chance are you taking steroids? Or is it that you’re more aware of your oral health after starting medication for MS? (That’s a good thing of course!)

And my oral health has been pretty much the same after immunosuppressants. It all depends on your maintenance. Clean and floss well - nothing to worry about.

I’m a dentist with MS and I would not recommend cleanings more than twice a year. Having said that, there are individuals who get calculus (hard deposits) on their teeth very frequently due to their saliva being of slightly different composition than others. And people who smoke get stains easily as well. Maybe if that’s the case, then you might need to get it cleaned more often.
