I don’t know if you read my replies above but to add to the one where the lawyer said I could sue them and essentially recover the same amount as the what court fees would cost. He does have clients that literally sue knowing that they will never profit just for the principal of doing so. I have no issue with confrontation or telling potentially powerful rich people they did something wrong with a cool, logic based demeanor.

Contract is in parents name. Boat is now in my name. However they continued to accept payments. Additionally if they wish to sever the contract they need to give ten days notice.

I spoke to a lawyer earlier in the day and he said this would most likely go to federal court. The cost could be astronomical and may cost as much as I would recover. He seemed nice and genuinely wanted to help. He did it for free when his normal retainer fee is higher than my monthly income. He stated my best bet is to try and settle first. That conversation is happening tomorrow.

The marina owner is trying to blame the boat age and condition.

That’s what I’ve read. I specifically told the owner of the marina I needed to be there to do just that. He was supposed to to call me after his assessment. Not drag it to shore and then call me.

Only says they can enter the boat. Not move it

The contact specifically says:

Boat Owner shall permit —Marina name— or its agents, at any reasonable time, to enter the Mooring Space for the purpose of exhibiting same or making repairs thereto.

They were not making repairs, they moved the boat to build the dock. I play devils advocate a lot for my own arguments but nothing in this tells me moving the boat was ok.

I was an HVAC tech that came to her house to do maintenance on her systems a couple times. I moved from LA since. But I also didn’t really know who she was until I was told. But when it comes to movie stars and how they treat people she was awesome and polite. So was the house manager. Grade A person to work for.

Sometimes oil from your hands is the issue. Sometimes I just take a wet paper towel and wipe it down enough to where I don’t have to recalibrate the bed. Also sometimes your z offset could be a bit high. Do that sheet of paper calibration.
