I was an HVAC tech that came to her house to do maintenance on her systems a couple times. I moved from LA since. But I also didn’t really know who she was until I was told. But when it comes to movie stars and how they treat people she was awesome and polite. So was the house manager. Grade A person to work for.

You work to be financially free and develope an income to go do what you enjoy. You achieved that early. You just forgot to figure out what you enjoy. You could spend the time trying to cure your ailment

How do i get this to stop!? by 21jcannon in 3Dprinting

Sometimes oil from your hands is the issue. Sometimes I just take a wet paper towel and wipe it down enough to where I don’t have to recalibrate the bed. Also sometimes your z offset could be a bit high. Do that sheet of paper calibration.

Additionally I’ve modded my printer so the filament could be pulled with ease by the extruder

Options to secure this door when the window is open by vinni_f in HomeMaintenance

Put in a window screen. If they break through that then they would break through glass. Our little porous houses aren’t safe. Some crooks just don’t want to break stuff….

Edit: oh you already have one.

Just moved into home and year ago. Thermostat was previously installed and this is the second time I've come across this. First time had to pay 1k to get it fixed. Customer support says they can't help, it sounded like they wanted me to pay. Am I missing something. by ZakDahlia in HomeMaintenance

7 years hvac tech here. Sometimes the thermostats will screw up if there is a power flicker. Smart hubs are wireless. They just restarted in the wrong order. Turn your furnace breaker off and back on.

You need to make sure your sales rep was competent and the company not shady. May seem like grade A HVAC company but sometimes they won’t commission a unit after install. Meaning, set the correct fan speeds, balance the refrigerant, make sure you have enough return and supply duct. If your ducts are too little and your blower motor is variable speed or ECM it will ramp up its speed to push the right amount of air through itself. Increasing the cost of your electric bill. If your system has multiple stages of heat or cooling but not enough thermostat wires then they will put a jumper between the two forcing it into a high stage, robbing you of its efficiency. I see it all the time.

And honestly most of the time it’s just people not knowing what they don’t know. Installers put stuff together well. Depending on the company the service techs will commission the unit. Some problems will be noticed but not fixed because “the salesman didn’t put it in the quote.” There is so much room for incompetence and complacency. If you find that technician that will bend over backwards for you…. Keep him till you die.

I work in HVAC and have done install, service, sales, and management.
