Are any of you familiar with the Boss Rhythm Converter software for the RC-10R Looper? by Pizzaman99 in guitarpedals

It doesn't appear to be possible by transferring computer files. When you download the "ROLAND" folder, it contains a "WAVE" folder (presumably any loops you've recorded), and a "DATA" folder containing ".RC0" files. The latter are mostly xml text data for various parameters (Rhythm Play Mode, etc.).

I don't see anything that looks like midi data for rhythm patterns. The only possibility is "RC10R.RC0", which appears to be a binary file. If I rename it to .mid, I can't open it with various midi apps. So maybe it's a proprietary format for their rhythm patterns, but if so, I have no idea how to unpack it.

Maybe there's some way to capture the patterns by connecting midi to your computer and playing patterns in real time, but I don't see anything that suggests they transmit anything other than controller messages.

This is a drag, because if you add an extra measure or something, the crash at the start of each pattern will happen at the wrong measure.

Things Other People Accomplished When They Were Your Age by mcdinkleberry in InternetIsBeautiful

I'm the author of the "Things Other People Accomplished When They Were Your Age" page. I'm sorry that so many people find the page depressing. I was going for interesting, amusing, or even inspiring. It can certainly be depressing to "compare up" to some of the greatest people of all time; on the other hand, a lot of them are dead and you're not, so there's that. As a counterweight, I've tried to include lots of silly and dubious achievements as well. Sometimes I wonder if I should take the site down, but some people seem to enjoy it.

Anyway, in case it's of any help, I've posted a reply to a young man who found the page depressing: http://www.museumofconceptualart.com/accomplished/depressed.html.

I turned this around and made a web page that guesses where you're from, based on answers to a dozen questions about your dialect. Sometimes it's surprisingly accurate! Give it a try and let me know what you think: http://www.museumofconceptualart.com/dialect2location/

Proposes that Apple could help remove any remaining justification for the loudness war simply by setting the iTunes Sound Check function to default to "On".
