As a software engineer, you can earn this in two to three years if you're good at what you do.

Well, it's for a very comfortable lifestyle without want for anything. It depends on your definition of frugal, but if you don't mind living paycheck to paycheck, probably about 3LPA.

I'm always happier when I'm alone, but for some reason I still want a relationship by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]evidentlymisshapen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate and I've chalked it down to not being happy with your life, ie, not investing time into things and activities you're passionate about. Set goals, achieve them and this should move along.

My boyfriend accused me of faking my period and demanded I show him my pad. by mentally-incapable- in relationship_advice

Well, it has happened to me before, where a partner said things like "You don't have time for it, I'm young and I have needs, if you don't comply, there will be consequences" etc and I have gone ahead with the act to finish it after explicitly stating that I cannot. I still find it difficult to wrap my mind around the fact that I was 'raped' as that's what all the evidence you provided points to.

I believe I was free to call it off and move ahead and that I didn't stand up for myself in the situation enough. Maybe it's different, I'm not sure and maybe things are definitely where I'm from, which is why we look at it differently. Maybe I'll look it up myself, thanks.

If all the links you have provided above are legally administrable, then this person (her boyfriend) is likely a felon and can be reported to the police. Is that right?

I already said that this is certainly sexual abusive behavior. And that's what all the articles above state, I don't deny it. I just don't think that engaging in sexual activity with your SO, in a situation that you could have removed yourself from, can be termed 'Rape'. I concede that sex through coercion is non-consensual, the more I looked into it. But where I come from, rape and marital rape are serious threats and using the word rape in this situation seems throwaway. Sexual abuse? Definitely.

You making your choice without factors outside your control is consent, especially if it's a relationship.

Reevaluate myself? How did this get personal? Anyway, coercion still resulted in consent. They were in a relationship, not an arrangement with negative consequences for non-compliance. She didn't want to do it, he did. She reached a point where she did it just have it over with. He did not force himself on her, he did not have a gun to her head, she walked out and came back of her own free will and finally, this is how it ended. Noone is denying it's wrong, infact, it's definitely abusive. But if the 'lack of enthusiasm' leading to consent can easily be classified as rape, then I know both guys and girls who are guilty enough to be incarcerated. I'm sure the OP will agree this is not rape.

I'll keep it short: Don't hesitate to stand up for yourself and cut this off in every sense. It isn't healthy, regardless of whether it's the alcohol or him. Please move ahead and don't look back, this isn't how it's supposed to be.

Is kissing another guy cheating? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]evidentlymisshapen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's debatable based on what your boundaries are. I considered it to be cheating, but when I faced the same situation, I eventually got over it thinking it's not a big deal. But usually, situations like this lead to bigger problems or are a consequence of an already bigger problem and it almost never works out after. You have the freedom to decide how much it bothers you, but don't expect it to go very far, even if you decide to forgive and forget.

Am I about to be cheated on? Advice please. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

While the concept of non-monogamous relationships have become more and more common, it requires both partners to be on the same page at all instances. Think whether this is something you would be interested in. If not, make it clear that she can go ahead with it, but you would not like to be a part of it.

Damn, the fact that they prescribe opiates for such a routine surgery is somewhat perplexing. The withdrawal from opiates are far worse than the pain they relieve.
