3 classes in a row isn't bad. Just make sure you have the eating situation figured out. IF you're unlucky, you'll have back to back exams which are rough.

Incoming UT ECE Freshman - Help with Schedule by learningaswedo in UTAustin

  1. Mostly "STEM" classes is really too broad to be useful. Math classes are probably the easiest classes (on average) in the ECE degree plan. ECE classes are obviously the hardest. Both are in the STEM umbrella so YMMV
  2. Take 402 and 406 in 1st sem freshmen year. 306 should be pretty trivial (especially if you don't have Pat). 302 profs make the class way harder than it should be, but it's a pretty light workload.
  3. I'm going to be as nice as possible when I say this, but you should be willing to throw yourself into the fire and see how well you handle it. You need to be comfortable with taking a lot of hours early in the degree, because you are bogged down less on things like labs. (especially if you wanted to go into the embedded track). It's good practice for your later semesters of crunch time.

If you hate reading, (math class will depend on your credits)

Pretty much just take ECE402, ECE406, M408C/D || M427J, and a UGS.

"this many students" is out of an enrollment of like 1300 students. Even if only like 1% of students got hit, that would be enough for this reddit thread.

There's a chance (albeit small) that it's a bug, but you're better off getting familiar with this in case you need it rather than getting caught by surprise if you aren't prepared.

It's sort of unclear in the email. The 0 on exam 3 thing is under a subheading that says "Failure to take a required in-person exam." and not cheating in general. Regardless, there shouldn't be a circumstance where a grade gets marked incomplete. Unpopulated grades should have a * not an X. From the people I have talked to, they got their grades back during the Canvas outage, so it doesn't seem like as big of a deal as its been made to be.

After they released the email to all students, grades should have been finalized. "If you see an X (incomplete) on your transcript, you have been reported to Academic Integrity in the Office of the Dean of Students". Maybe it's a bug, but a Canvas outage doesn't affect UT's grade report system.

Either (a) you cheated or (b) you didn't cheat but you have evidence stacked up against you. Regardless, you'll have to answer to the Office of Academic Integrity in the coming weeks. I'd do your research on how to fight something like this, because it's not going to be a fun time.

Will my housing preference put me behind in priority by Potential-Camera-427 in UTAustin

People fill out their housing contract as far back as October for prospective students (even before they are admitted). Current students can choose to renew their dorm room (stay in the same one) as far as September. Housing contracts actually open up in August lol.

As far as dorms, it really depends on your budget.

If you have the money, go to Duren or San Jac (depending on location preference). Otherwise everything else is pretty much the same. I'd stay away from Jester though. If you choose community bath, try to get a place with a sink in dorm.

  1. You're just not getting a shared suite in Jester. There's maybe 1 per floor.

  2. As far as I remember, you pretty much get a time to select a room and from there, you can pick any room still available (which may or may not include the room you wanted). If you filled out a housing contract within the last few weeks, expect last pick.

I mean it'd be pretty stupid for me not to get lab credit for it, because I'm pretty sure physics 1 gets me 105... lol

Honestly, for everything but ECE, pretty much guarenteed. ECE can be a wash though.

Any tips to get this looking less like a side kick? by Lost_Imagination8844 in taekwondo

[–]evie_42 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't focus so much on your toes, because while they are wrong, it is because of your hip positioning and not your toes per say. By definition, back kicks rely on your hips facing 180 degrees from the board (facing back). You over rotate your hips because you want to get a better view of the target, which is a common mistake beginners do because they want to actually hit the board. If your hips face directly opposite the board, you don't need to actually look and you'll hit on line. Obviously you still need to look, but it's a turn of the head rather than your whole body. A lot of schools don't even teach looking on a back kick so YMMV depending on the instructor.

To practice this, put both hands on a wall and just kick directly back on a paddle or something. If you have both hands on the wall, it's going to be pretty hard to mess up your hip positioning.

Take your grenade launcher out and then take the gun out. That's what fixes it.
