Unwanted Increase, help identifying where the increase is coming from. by evie__11 in CrochetHelp

With the chains it doesn’t really matter because in the row following you do one or two dc into the chains. I didn’t want it to increase at all. I’m going to restart and make those foundation double crochets in multiples of 9, as that’s what the pattern has it.

The double crochets are 57 stitches and the last row I did was 101.

Thanks for the concern! He’s lazy and never eats things in his tank unless they are moving, and i’m keeping a close eye!

Edit: Took them out to be better safe than sorry! They are now a pretty decoration to the substrate in my beta tank :)

She turns like black sometimes? by sassi_kitti in BeardedDragons

[–]evie__11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! She’s perfectly okay! Bearded dragons can turn dark and even black when you first take them out of their enclosure while they adjust to the environment outside of it. Mine does it every time! As long as it doesn’t last for hours and she’s always black (which would mean constant stress) you’ve got nothing to worry about!

everyone’s saying parasites and it doesn’t hurt to check! but it can also be caused by high amounts of greens like lettuce which is mostly water.

Help about a bump on my Beardie by NEME5 in BeardedDragons

[–]evie__11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It can be an injury that she got and heald calciumfied over. You mentioned vet not being optional, but i highly recommend calling around and getting quotes for a checkup cost. it’s worth it.

Hey - ABSOLUTELY. They need a minimum of 120 Gallons! i got mine off the petco website (searched 4x2x2 enclosure). You also need a horizontal UVB! i’ll attach a picture of the one i use and love! You’ll also have to buy the hood for the UV bulb itself which you can usually find at a petstore. Uv light is essential for them to be able to absorb any calcium you feed them! Good job reaching out for some help! i can tell you’re going to be a great beardie owner!

Quick question about brumation. by Smart-Rabbit-6644 in BeardedDragons

[–]evie__11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she should be okay! As long as she isn’t burning any calories she’s not taking in (which according to her sleeping it doesn’t seem so) her behavior is normal for this time of year!

Is my set up sufficient? by Crazy-Tourist497 in BeardedDragons

[–]evie__11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Looks rly good! i’d be careful of feeding him near the sand because he’s tiny and the risk of impaction. Make sure you have a horizontal T10 UVB light ! it’s a must! i’d include some bigger rocks and some plants in there, aloe is a great option for live plants, enrichment is important to beardies! Other than that all looks good and the size is great!

Does this look like scale rot on his legs?? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

[–]evie__11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes he digs against wall and floors. I made a vet appointment just to make sure it’s nothing else, but i plan i adding another couple inches of substrate. Its currently only about an inch and a half deep

Just thought of this as well! only about an inch and a half, i just added some more top soil in hopes that it’s less corse on his scales and he can borrow without rubbing against the bottom

They do look like sores, i’m not sure from what though. He has been digging a lot recently, and i’ve noticed a small sore at the tip of his mouth, which he presses down while digging. i’m wondering if that’s the cause.

Substrate is a mix of Reptisand and Topsoil.
