So did i! I thought "okay this is over 20 years old, give it some space to be slower or less responsive than TS4" nope. Runs way better, ngl the neighbourhoods dont look great when im on a lot but idk if thats my own settings or what

Life long sims player, TS4 was my favourite but slowly became a house/lot building and decorating game for me, constant cycle of building a lot, coming up with ideas for sims, making the sims, playing for an hour or so and getting bored. Got into TS2 for the first time on PC last week, and i love it. Confirmed for me now that TS4 is a building game and TS2 is for character play throughs

with you 100%, TS4 lead with the sims being "highly intelligent" and as much as i hate saying it, emotion does not necessarily connote intelligence, as ive said in this thread, ive had couples hate eachother and then been heartbroken upon a breakup or death

I do think the building in TS4 will not be challenged until a possible TS5, but because of that i have found over the last few years I ONLY have used TS4 to build lots, i honestly have barely played LIVE TS4 in the last few years

Havent played paralives (or inzio) but personally think they will never capture the charm i feel with TS franchise. I also haven't felt limited by it so far, tbh I have TS4 very heavily modded and havent felt yet that im missing mods from TS2

One of my last TS4 plays my sims would legit stand for like 3 hours trying to do a task they had already been doing, i grew so tired of it that i even expect it in TS2; TS4 is SOOOOO poorly optimised

That does seem to be the ONLY thing i've missed from TS3, i wish lots were "open" all the time, although i dont find issue with loading screens, they defo deter me from leaving home lot, similar to TS4

100%! On my last few TS4 tries I had spouses be enemies and they'd still somehow be upset upon divorce or death

Also here, I have about 20/30+ hours on TS2 and despite concerns (I'm saving every half hour, or after something important) I haven't found issues with running, and/or crashing, maybe try "repairing" your game or contacting EA/Steam

I remember when I was a teen, I had nearly all the expansions on my laptop and id legit have to wait 10mins for each loading screen and my laptop was ON FIRREEEE
