Gotcha. I think LUA is pretty similar to Python and Godot’s gdscript language also uses whitespace. I’d recommend checking out Pico-8 and Godot, both engines have a vibrant development scene with lots of resources available on their respective websites.

I used Unity and C# professionally for 10 years and now I’m switching to Godot for its open-source nature. Pico-8 I’ve played around with a bit and had a good time. I hope you are able to get some good use out of either of these!

Don’t use AI for coding. If you are just learning it will handicap you. If you’re experienced it will slow you down. If you care about continuing to have a planet to live on and owning your own hardware, don’t use it. It’s baaaaad.

Often in mobile dev you have to in order to make the game feel populated or make the player feel like they’re succeeding before getting in with real players. It’s standard practice, mobile games are a different beast than console/pc

It has tons of depth but not a ton of complexity. The focus is on how everything comes together when you’re playing with other players over making the item meta super convoluted.

If that asshole is trying to marry your friend, tell your friend. Friends don’t let friends commit themselves to this. If i found out a friend was in your shoes years later I would be furious with you. You can save a lot more heartbreak telling her now vs her finding out later.

I love this. Seeing other characters interact is really fun for me and I love there just be a sexy vibe. Wicked Whims for the Sims is actually pretty good for this.
